16mm test reel
This is just a test reel for my first on-hand experience with a 16mm film camera. I rented the dust-gathering Eclair NPR camera from Baylor when I was a student there. Unfortunately it has been my only experience with 16mm thus far but I considered the opportunity invaluable as it is rather expensive to shoot 16mm without free rentals from school. The music is a track from a Ghosts and Vodka album.

Gentle Giant - Funny Ways - 16mm Film - 1974
"Funny Ways" from a 16mm Film directed by Christopher Nupen, a classical music film director who invited the band to record this concert in a film studio in Brussels for the German television station ZDF.

Dante's Inferno (Clay Animation, 16mm)
www.alexiswallerimages.com A VERY abridged (and unfinished) version of Dante's Inferno, depicting the pilgrim's journey from the dark wood to the Giants in Canto XXXI, just before their descent in to Cocytus. I've sculpted the devil (he's stored in a shoebox in my closet) but haven't filmed that part yet. Theoretically, Purgatorio and Paradiso will follow. This is what happens when you graduated with a major in Italian lit in today's world. Unemployment ensues, followed by acquisitions of 16mm cameras and months spent bringing exiled 13th century Florentine statesmen to life in plasticine. It's mostly audition footage of Richard Kanayan, who played a kid in "The 400 Blows" and a part in "Tirez sur le pianiste" ("Shoot the piano player", François Truffaut, 1960)
Patrick Auffay played René in Truffaut's "Les Quatre cents coups" (1959) and "Antoine et Colette" (1962)
Léaud actually ran away from school for this audition, and that audacity probably helped his chances for this role.
