At the Feet of the Moon - Parachute Club
Parachute Club was a Canadian band formed in Toronto in 1982.
The band consisted of Lorraine Segato on vocals and guitar, Lauri Conger on keyboards and vocals, Billy Bryans on drums, Margo Davidson on saxophone and vocals, Julie Masi on percussion and vocals, Steve Webster on bass and Dave Gray on guitar. Their first album was produced by Daniel Lanois. The song "Rise Up" from that album won a Canadian Juno Award for Single of the Year.
Steve Webster left to perform with Billy Idol and Keir Brownstone replaced Webster on their second album At the Feet of the Moon in 1985, produced by Michael Beinhorn. They received a Juno Award for Group of the Year the same year.
In 1986, they released their third album, Small Victories. The album included the song "Love is Fire" featuring Segato singing a duet with John Oates of Hall & Oates. Oates produced the single, as well as several other Small Victories tracks; The Parachute Club and Mike Jones were credited as producers on the reminder of the album.
In 1987, they composed and performed four songs for the Canadian and U.S. versions of the anime series, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. After a final non-album single in 1987 ("Big Big World"), the band members went their separate ways in 1989.
In 2005, critic Greg Quill wrote in the Toronto Star that "No musical collective bespoke this city during a specific period as powerfully as Parachute Club did in the 1980s. Their infectious, inclusive, soca-soaked dance music carried important messages about the social changes Toronto was experiencing at the time, about sexual and personal politics, about the need for hope and courage in an age of confusing, impersonal rhetoric from local policymakers and world leaders."

ZAKK WYLDE Interview pt4Ep44 KASR VIDEO
The incredible Zakk Wylde stops by with his guitar to the MetalWorks radio show and have a few beers with Bobby Diablo and Manic Mike.
Kasrvnotebook: On January 17, 2006, Zakk Wylde was immortalized at the Hollywood Rock Walk of Fame located at 7425 Sunset Blvd, featuring his hand prints and signature, in recognition to his successful career as a musician and contribution to music industry. "Don't expect a lot from this show." Was the unofficial motto of KASR VIDEO, which made a pleasant surprise when we actually knocked out a great show! The program was a weekly 2 hour public access offshoot of the Arizona State University's original alternative radio station that aired in Phoenix. The music video show featured rarely seen videos and "new" music not in the "main stream." Along with non-conventional interviews it became a decent way to nurse a hangover with the midnight party crowd. These clips are edited as a sort of best of; minus the music videos. for more info on ASU Student radio goto: http://www.theblaze1260.com

Ginger Sling EPK - Power Pop
Ginger has been playing in bands and writing songs since her freshman year in High School. So when Spring rolled around in 2004 Ginger decided it was time to start her own band and called it Ginger Sling.
Before Ginger Sling began, Ginger was in a band called the Halo Friendlies. The Friendlies accomplished many things that bands only dream of. They toured the United States many times over on the Vans Warped Tour and toured with such bands as Good Charlotte and Funeral for a Friend. With the Halos, Ginger has toured the UK five times and has done two USO tours after 9/11 playing shows in Bosnia, Kosovo and Germany. The Halo Friendlies released an album for EMI's Tooth and Nail Records and recorded a song for the Freaky Friday Soundtrack in 2003. They also received a gold record for the sale of over 500,000 copies of the Soundtrack. From 2001-2002 Ginger was also the bass player for the band Lo Ball where she had the opportunity to work with John Porter (The Smiths, Morrissey) and Michael Beinhorn (Hole, Soundgarden). She has also performed live with producer Linda Perry and fellow solo artist Sierra Swan.
Throughout 2004-2006, Ginger has recorded her own music and released a 5 song EP called "The Room" and has released a group of demos called the "Laguna Beach Demos". Her total download sales exceed the 12,000 mark and continue to sell through iTunes and most every digital music store online. Her music has been featured on MTV's "The Real World", "Making the Band", "Pimp My Ride", "Meet the Barkers" and "Laguna Beach". She also recorded a song for the Disney feature film, "Sky High" that was released in theaters in the US in July of 2005. Her cover of the song, "Can't Stop the World" is featured on the Soundtrack.
Ginger Sling's own music is powerful, melodic and full of pop and rock sensibilities. Her main influences are the Beatles, Elvis Costello, Superdrag and Elliott Smith. Ginger Sling, named after a lyric in the Beatles' song "Savoy Truffle," is backed by a rocking band with herself on bass. Ginger loves to write songs but also loves to play live. She performs regularly around Southern California and has performed on the Vans Warped Tour. Keep an eye out for when she comes to your town. You won't want to miss it.
Ginger is sponsored by Fender USA, Dunlop Manufacturing, Hurley Clothing, Paul Frank and Vestal apparel.
