Attention HH fans, we are all very very very sad about Casey passing away and feel free to express it. There are people out there posting telling us to shut up and go to hell, but dont listen to them! Lets fight their blind hatred with silence! Dont respond to any of their hateful comments, let their hatred fall to deaf ears. We've had ENOUGH of them!
Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvert died due to the "acute combined effects of opiate, citalopram and clonazepam intoxication," according to the just-released results of an autopsy performed by the office of the chief medical examiner in Washington, D.C. The autopsy listed Calvert's death as accidental, though it added that it was brought on due to "substance abuse." Both citalopram (also known by the brand name Celexa) and clonazepam (also known by the brand names Klonopin and Rivotril) are prescription drugs, the former an antidepressant and the latter used to treat seizure disorders and panic attacks
**the band will not be breaking up!
unfortunatley the tour is still cancelled though
But the fast-rising pop-punk group, which finished up a show in Detroit on Friday night, never got a chance to perform for local fans. D.C. police were called to the 9:30 Club in Northwest Washington about 2:30 p.m. Saturday and found Calvert unconscious on the band's tour bus, according to Officer Junis Fletcher, a police spokesman.

The band confirmed Casey's death November 24, 2007. The following is an exerpt from the band's website:
Today is probably the worst day ever. Its with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before sound-check. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible. At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don't contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don't want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as we know more we will let you know.
Sincerely,
Hawthorne Heights
Eron, JT, Micah and Matt
Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvert died due to the "acute combined effects of opiate, citalopram and clonazepam intoxication," according to the just-released results of an autopsy performed by the office of the chief medical examiner in Washington, D.C. The autopsy listed Calvert's death as accidental. Dr. John Mendelson, a pharmacologist at the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute, told MTV News that "Cases like Calvert's are so rare that they're almost nonexistent. It's so rare that you can't even put a number on it,"[19] and that It's exceedingly rare that 26-year-olds die of anything medical. This kind of death is one in several million."[20] Both citalopram (also known by the brand name Celexa) and clonazepam (also known by the brand names Klonopin and Rivotril) are prescription drugs, the former an antidepressant and the latter used to treat seizure disorders and panic attacks.

Hawthorne Heights - Casey Calvert Last Show Detroit 11-23-07
Hawthorne Heights guitarist/screamer Casey Calvert's last show at the Majestic Theater in Detroit, Michigan on November 23rd, 2007. Here, Hawthorne Heights is performing the song "This Is Who We Are". Also, lead singer JT Woodruff was sick and sang two octaves lower during the performance. He could only sing about two pitches and that's why he is so hard to hear on the recording. Amazingly, they didn't cancel the show, and it's a good thing they didn't.
R.I.P Casey Calvert. It was an honor seeing you give it your all at your last performance. You will be missed.

Casey Calvert
[[IF YOU'RE HERE TO TRASH TALK CASEY, THEN JUST LEAVE. WHY WATCH A VIDEO DEDICATED TO HIM IF YOU DON'T EVEN LIKE HIM?]]
Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvert, 26, was pronounced dead on Saturday after police were called to the band's tour bus outside Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 Club around 2:30 p.m. and found him unconscious. The Washington Post reported that Calvert's death came one day after he and his bandmates — frontman JT Woodruff, guitarist Micah Carli, bassist Matt Ridenour and drummer Eron Bucciarelli — boarded the bus to begin their Wintour 2007 outing, which kicked off Friday night in Detroit. Police are still awaiting results of an autopsy, though some reports speculate that his death might have been caused by a pre-existing condition related to acute asthma.
News of Calvert's untimely death is being greeted with shock and sadness by his fans and his fellow musicians, who remembered him as a kind and caring soul who loved to laugh and loved being in a band with his best friends.
An autopsy report released today has confirmed that Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvert died as a result of "acute combined effects of opiate, citalopram and clonazepam intoxication."
Calvert had battled depression for some time, and had been prescribed a variety of medical treatments. It appears that these medications, taken in tandem with an unnamed opiate, led to an accidental case of suffocation due to the involuntary closure of his airways. It has been suggested by the band that the opiate in question was the painkiller Vicodin, which the band members speculated in a statement had been prescribed to him following a dental procedure.
Reads the statement: "From the time of the incident, we suspected a possible drug interaction as the cause. Casey wrestled with depression for as long as we knew him. He saw numerous doctors and took an ever-changing array of medicines to get better. He finally had his depression under control."
The band members were also careful to point that there was no indication that Calvert had been abusing drugs intentionally. "According to the toxicology report, the cause of death was due to a fatal interaction between depression meds, anxiety meds and an opiate ... Opiates being mentioned along with the term 'substance abuse,' coupled with 'rock star' stereotypes immediately conjure up images of hard drug use and addiction, which simply couldn't be further from the truth in Casey's instance."
"What the toxicology report doesn't show is that prior to us leaving for tour, Casey had a root canal and was prescribed Vicodin for the pain. Once again, Casey was not involved in anything illegal, nor was he a substance abuser."
Rest In Peace Casey Calvert.
