Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang ep.1 (1/7)
"Sassy Girl, Choon-Hyang" is the 2005 interpretation of the "Legend of Choon-hyang". The story begins when Lee Mong-ryong is transferred from Seoul to a high school in Namwon, North Jeolla Province. Chun-hyang does her best to help Mong-ryong, her first love and the son of the Namwon Police Station chief, to enter a prestigious university. However, after meeting with Mong-ryong's first love, Chae-rin, Mong-ryong's love toward Chun-hyang is shattered, although Chun-hyang's love remains unwavering.
One day, Byeon Hak-do, CEO of a famous entertainment company, appears in her life. He exudes confidence that he can make any woman fall for him. But as Chun-hyang shows no interest in him, his self-esteem is damaged profoundly. Byeon Hak-do is determined to make her love him.

Sinopsis:
Este drama es la interpretación del 2005 de una antigua leyenda corenana, "La leyenda de Choon Hyang". Por eso al principio del drama y al finalizar los capítulos se pueden ver pequeñas representaciones ambientadas en la Corea Antigua. El drama se podría dividir en 3 partes (el colegio, la universidad, y la edad adulta).
La historia comienza cuando Lee Mong Ryong, Jae Hee, un gamberro pijo de ciudad que parece que los problemas no hacen más que buscarlo y un cero a la izquierda en los estudios, es transferido desde su amada ciudad Seúl al instituto de Namwon, un pueblo perdido en las afueras. Al llegar al pueblo tiene "la mala suerte" de toparse con Sung Choon Hyang, Han Chae Young, una chica de armas tomar, de temperamento muy fuerte y número 1 en los estudios, que acaba literalmente encima de él. Tras este desagradable encuentro descubren que asisten al mismo instituto por lo que parece que el destino no los quiere separar. Una mañana Mong Ryong después de haberse emborrachado por accidente se despierta en la misma cama de Choon Hyang, para sorpresa de ella, de la madre y de él mismo. Por diversos malentendidos la noche anterior la moto le había sido robada y utilizada para robar un bolso, por lo que naturalmente todo el mundo piensa que el culpable es él, incluso su padre "el comisario", CEO de Seúl. La única que puede probar su inocencia es Choon Hyang confesando que se habían despertado juntos después de haber pasado toda la noche juntos.
De cualquier modo la historia continúa con el matrimonio obligado entre Mong Ryong y Choon Hyang que por las circunstancias no pueden oponerse, matrimonio que los hará odiarse en un principio para depués acercarse más y más. Cuando la cosa está apunto de cuajar aparece en escena el primer amor de él, Chae Rin su vecina mayor de toda la vida que había pasado de él pero ahora que lo ve casado y más "hombre" parece habérselo pensado mejor. A pesar de los problemas Choon Hyang ayuda a su "marido" con los estudios para que pueda ir a la universidad dónde está su Noona, (hermana mayor), Chae Rin. Por su parte ella conoce a un famoso productor / director Byun Hak Do que queda prendado de ella gracias a su honesta personalidad y belleza. Chae Rin y Byun Hak Do unirán fuerzas para separar al matrimonio.
¿Podrá lo que fue en un principio un "contrato matrimonial" convertirse en el amor que cambiará sus vidas para siempre?
