Joshua Edelman, pianista, compositor y profesor neoyorquino afincado en España desde hace 22 años, se adentró en los caminos del Jazz en su Manhattan natal para, luego, dirigir su mirada al mundo latino y viajar a esas latitudes impregnándose de su cultura y musicalidad. En 1980 eligió como destino Valencia (España) formando parte del ambiente jazzÃstico y salsero de la ciudad. 1986 fue el año que le llevó a Madrid, ciudad en la
que reside. En ella ha desarrollado una intensa labor en el terreno del jazz, la salsa, el jazz latino y la enseñanza. Actualmente lidera la formación Joshua Edelman TrÃo y el grupo Conexiones integrado por músicos cubanos, panameños, españoles, suecos y neoyorquinos.
Ha compartido escenario con importantes figuras del panorama musical como Donna Hightower, Presuntos Implicados, Camilo Azuquita, Juan Pablo Torres, Abdu Salim, Perico Sambeat, Manuel Machado, Antonio Serrano y Natalia Dicenta, entre otros.

JOSHUA EDELMAN. "ZORTZI'S DANCE".
Joshua Edelman: Pianista y compositor afincado en Madrid, Joshua Edelman se adentró en los caminos del jazz en su Manhattan natal para, luego, dirigir su mirada al mundo latino y viajar a esas latitudes impregnándose de su cultura y musicalidad. En 1980 llegó a España invitado como profesor por la Unión Musical de Liria (Valencia). Seis años después fijó su residencia en Madrid, ciudad desde la que ha desarrollado una extensa labor en el terreno del jazz, el Latin jazz y la docencia. A lo largo de estos años ha participado en numerosos, seminarios, producciones y giras internacionales. Gracias al éxito de sus últimos discos Antonio Serrano & Joshua Edelman TrÃo en el Central (2000), Conexiones (2001) y Fusión de almas (2003), Edelman goza de un reconocido prestigio dentro del panorama musical español circunstancia que le ha valido para llevarse el Premio al Mejor Grupo Español en el III Certamen de Intérpretes del XXV Festival Internacional de Jazz de Granada. Actualmente entre sus proyectos más inmediatos figuran la publicación, bajo el sello de la SGAE, de un trabajo editorial sobre el piano en la música latina, que verá la luz en 2006, y la salida al mercado de su cuarto disco.
Siempre en permanente formación, Edelman ha estudiado, Piano clásico y piano de jazz, Solfeo y armonÃa en la Manhattan School of Music. Desde 1976 ha tenido la oportunidad de trabajar con numerosos músicos y artistas, entre los que se encuentran: David Schnitter, Chuck Israels, Abdu Salim, Donna Hightower, Ira and Claudia Thomas, Roberto Blades, Juan Pablo Torres, Bebo Valdés, Paquito D´Rivera, Pedro Iturralde, Perico Sambeat, Antonio Serrano, Jorge Pardo, José Antonio Galicia, Javier Colina, y Mario Rossy entre otros. Asimismo su experiencia en el panorama jazzistico es incontestable tras su presencia en numerosos festivales nacionales o internacional de jazz, como los de: Festival Internacional de Jazz de NÃjar, Granada; Marbella, Madrid, Gijón, La Habana, México, Puerto de Santa MarÃa, Pamplona, etc.
