Tear Stained Eye-Son Volt-Jay Farrar
One of my favorite songs. I also like Kasey Chambers cover, may post also. Saint Genevieve,Mo. south of St. Louis was threatened by floods in 1993, people came from all around to help save this small town. It's one of the early European settlements west of the Mississippi, founded in 1735.Jay wrote about it in this song. Enjoy.

Cynthia Farrar Purple States
"Citizen" Videos about Primaries Goes up on NYTimes.com This Week
Earlier today I interviewed Cynthia Farrar, the CEO and producer of PurpleStates.TV
This week, the first of nearly a dozen video segments produced by her new company and reported by non-professional citizen journalists, go up on the Op-Ed pages of the NYTimes.com The videos will be uploaded through February 5, "Super Tuesday."
Update 10 pm EST: I understand the videos will go up on The Times later in the week, but not Wednesday as previously planned. Details to follow.
Dr. Farrar is a scholar on the history of democracy at Yale. She is on leave to launch PurpleStates.TV which she hopes will continue to grow past the 2008 presidential elections. The company is privately funded.

The Time is hosting their clips, but the host for the Purple State videos for the company's site is on Blip.tv A few of the clips are up.

DKM - Fields of Athenry [Ballad] (Sgt. Farrar Tribute)
A video I made for Dropkick Murphy's ballad rendition of The Fields of Athenry. It's a tribute version, done for a soldier that died in Iraq.
Info:
This is a ballad version of the song so its slower than the original DKM version. It's slightly modified as a dedication for a soldier who died in Iraq. Sgt. Andrew Farrar (the soldier) was a long time Dropkick Murphy's fan whose last wish, in a letter he wrote to his wife, was that DKM play the "Fields of Athenry" at his funeral if he died in combat. DKM accepted his request and played it while his coffin was being carried into the church.
