SleepDrone vs FreqBox (Moogerfooger Fight)
This was originally 20 minutes long so I had to chop it up for You Tube. The Sleepdrone was my main sound source - its four oscillators modulated each other in interesting ways. That was fed into the FreqBox with its own oscillator which refused to play nice. I tamed the whole thing a bit with the Lowpass Filter but that was fed into the Ring Modulator which stirred up the insurgency all over again. That was fed into the Virus where I used its Phase Shifter. Roland SH-32 drums. Again, I used my Roland MPU-101 midi-to-cv converter to modulate different parameters.
That's a crazy woman at the train station in lower downtown Denver. she was coming up to people and saying all sorts of insane things. She approached me and began talking about her "private parts" and how they suffered when she didn't follow a strict hygiene regimen. I was able to get some video before security escorted her out.

FreqBox vs Virus Pt-02 (Toys 'n Noise)
This time I put the FreqBox thru the Lowpass Filter. Again into the Access Virus. A Roland MPU-101 gated the Virus and also step modulated the oscillator frequency on the FreqBox. I put the osc in both "synced" and
"non-synced" modes. I basically just hit the low E string on my guitar with a couple other notes thrown in when I wasn't twisting knobs. The rhythm pattern comes from my sequencer which is triggering the Virus. The Virus is set to "external input" so there is no internal sound...just that which is being fed into it from the FreqBox.

FreqBox vs Access Virus
I used my EMG equipped Strat thru a Vox distortion into the Moogerfooger FreqBox into the external in of an Access Virus. I wrote a rhythmic pattern into my sequencer which gated the Virus. That same pattern was also converted into control voltages with my MPU-101 which modulated the frequency of the FreqBox oscillator. The osc. was synced to my guitar pitch. I also wrote a basic 8-bar pattern for the sampled drums on the SH-32. I included a snippet of video of my brother-in-law and I setting off a Blockbuster in a ditch. That's my wife screaming "He's so insane!!!" I really can't argue with her.

Evolver vs. Freqbox
This is a patch I came up with on the Evolver and synced it to my sequencer. Jomox M-Base for the bass drum, the snare and hi-hat are from a Roland SH-32. The Virus is used for a basic arpeggiation. Also included: Roland MKS-30 along with the Moogerfooger Freqbox oscillator thru the Moogerfooger Lowpass Filter. The Strat is thru a Damage Control Demonizer. The Korg Kaoss Pad is set to a synth patch.
For the Freqbox I patched the oscillator out into the Lowpass Filter. I tuned the oscillator to E and wrote a stepped pattern for the midi-to-cv converter which step-modulated the filter cutoff frequency. Control the voltage!
The idea for this started with the patch I created on the Evolver. It never ceases to inspire something musical and/or strange.

FreqBox Guitar Synth from Moog, Pigtronix & Mad Professor

We're running an electric guitar into the Moog MF-107 FreqBox, Pigtronix Attack Sustain pedal, and Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay. The dry guitar runs into the 'Audio In' on the MF-107. The 'Oscillator Out' of the MF-107 goes into the Attack Sustain's 'Audio In'. The dry guitar out (mix all the way down) of the Freqbox is running into the 'Trigger In' on the Attack Sustain. The 'Audio Out' of the Attack Sustain goes to the Deep Blue Delay, then to the amp.

The Persephone vs. the Moogerfooger Freqbox
Today I continued working on a track by the Opium Cartel. It is a really interesting project where files are sent around all over the world with people doing overdubs separately and then Jacob, the bands songwriter sits in Norway and listens and sorts it out in the end. The material is really good and exciting so it is really fun material to work with.
Today I worked on a track called picker girl recording a lot of percussion stuff. During the afternoon I started with the Persephone experimenting with pedals. Here is a short experiment using the Moogerfooger Freqbox.
