Profile of Andrew Goldstein
From Wikipedia: Goldstein made headlines off the field in 2005 when he was dubbed "the most accomplished male, team-sport athlete in North America to be openly gay during his playing career." He is also noted to be the only goalie to have scored a goal in an NCAA tournament game in the last three decades of the tournament. In 2006, Goldstein was honored by being named to the OUT 100. He also received a prestigious 2006 GLAAD Media Award. A biochemistry and molecular biology major at Dartmouth, Goldstein will be pursuing a Ph.D in biology at UCLA with a specific focus on cancer. In 1994 on Purim, Goldstein stormed a mosque and fired on praying Muslims in the West Bank city's Tomb of the Patriarchs - a shrine sacred to both Muslims and Jews.
Twenty-nine people died in the attack, and the angry crowd lynched Goldstein in retaliation.
Israeli extremists continue to pay homage at his grave in the nearby Jewish settlement of Kiryat Arba, where a marble plaque reads: "To the holy Baruch Goldstein, who gave his life for the Jewish people, the Torah and the nation of Israel."

From William Goldstein.com the Motown Years, "Berry Gordy "discovered" William Goldstein in 1975. At the time Goldstein had written the theme for the ABC Morning show AM America. Mr. Gordy heard this theme every morning and after a few months asked the head of Motown's creative department Suzanne dePasse to find Goldstein and have him produce a record version of his memorable theme. Ms. dePasse found Goldstein visiting Los Angeles in the spring of '75 and the label entered into a "singles deal", where Goldstein would produce a record version of the AM America theme and two other sides. Goldstein returned to New York and went to work. At that time he was also finishing a commission for a Bicentennial work, CELEBRATION OVERTURE 1776-1976, which was to be performed by the National Symphony Orchestra in May of 1976."
