IZ - Over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World
Mahalo nui loa everyone for all your awesome comments and your continued visits. And thanks especially to Bruddah IZ. This song always gives me chicken skin (goosebumps) fo shua. He was a moke with a big heart. A hui hou bruddah! A tribute to Bruddah IZ - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, a favorite son of Hawaii whose music brought joy to millions the world over. While IZ had recorded a version of "Over The Rainbow", this version is unique in that it features a medley of both "Over The Rainbow" and "What a Wonderful World." IZ served as a goodwill ambassador for the native people of Hawaii and will remain in our hearts forever. Aloha and Mahalo! P.S. I apologize for the short audio dropouts at the very beginning. It occurred during uploading. Unfortunately, to re-upload would mean deleting all of your wonderful comments and starting over again. I won't let it happen. Perhaps I'll upload a 2nd version of this. I've received hundreds of inquiries about getting a MP3 of this song. I strongly recommend buying a CD from Mountain Apple Records, Bruddah IZ's label in Honolulu. Support Hawaii's #1 record label. It can be ordered online at www.mountainapplecompany.com

Iz the great!!!
king ov uke I read up on IZ, and learned IZ called his producer and said there was a song he had to record. He showed up at the studio at midnight with his ukulele -- and, in 5 minutes, created "Over The Rainbow/Wonderful World." In 1996, National Public Radio did a piece on IZ and played 'Over the Rainbow.' Listeners called in; sales shot up. And music insiders like Jimmy Buffett, Paul Simon and Bette Midler were no longer alone in their admiration for IZ. The following year, when IZ died, it was clear that he was the Bob Marley of Hawaii. His casket lay in state at the Capitol, and 10,000 fans came to say goodbye. The next day, friends paddled a double-hulled voyaging canoe into Makua Bay, where IZ and his friends had camped out and played music over the years. It was in this bay, in l982, that IZ had scattered the ashes of his brother Skippy, who had died of a heart attack; now the brothers would be united. There was thunderous cheering as IZ's ashes were poured into the water. It continued for an hour. To be with IZ one last time, family members and friends ran into the ocean. And the music continued into the night. It still does. http://www.mountainapplecompany.com/Content43.aspx?ArtistID=1980

Bruddah Iz ~ White Sandy Beach
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole The Starfish Ka Hôkû Kai [kah HOH' KOO' kai] Once upon a time, there was a wise kupuna (elder), who went to the sea to contemplate. One day, while walking along the shore, the kupuna looked down the beach, and saw a gracefully dancing human figure. The kupuna wondered out loud, "Who would so joyfully greet this day with hula?" and began to walk faster to catch up. Getting closer, the kupuna saw that the dancer was a keiki (child), who was not dancing at all. The keiki was reaching down to the sand to pick up something, and was very gently throwing it into the sea. The kupuna called out to the keiki, "Aloha! What are you doing?" The keiki paused, looked up and replied, "Throwing starfish into the sea." Surprised, the kupuna sputtered, "I...I guess I should have asked, WHY are you throwing starfish into the sea?" The keiki smiled brightly, pointed upward and, with exquisite simplicity, replied, "The sun is up, the tide is going out. If I don't throw them in, they will die." "But, don't you realize, " asked the kupuna, "that there are miles and miles of beach and starfish all along it? You can't possibly make a difference!" The keiki listened politely. Then bent down, picked up another starfish, threw it gently into the sea, just beyond the breaking waves, and exuberantly declared, "It made a difference for that one."

Bruddah IZ ~ Hawai'i Aloha
"We shall extend and display respect to all others which reflects our own appreciation of humanity. We shall carry our pride quietly, neither boasting of ourselves nor speaking badly of others - often a dishonest method of self-praise. Yet we must be unashamed of our principles and honest in our criticisms." ~ Hawaiian Code of Conduct Bruddah Iz ~ Israel Kamakawiwi'ole ~ Hawai'i Aloha.

Snoop Dogg "Cali Iz Active" Uncensored ft Tha Dogg Pound
http://www.NGTV.com From the archives of the DMV Channel on NO GOOD TV comes the return of one of the most legendary gangsta-rap groups in history -- Tha Dogg Pound! Only this time around, West Coast legends Kurupt and Daz Dillinger have company -- Bigg Snoop Dogg himself! This album features Snoop as an official member and executive producer of Tha Dogg Pound, providing that classic g-funk flow we all know and love. Combined with Daz's incredible flow and Kurupt's thoroughbred lyricism, this album is a guaranteed banger! In the booth, the Dogg Pound brought out all their A-List clientele for the album, including appearances by Diddy, Ice Cube, Paul Wall, David Banner, Nate Dogg and more. Supplying the beats are super-producers Battlecat, Jazze Pha and Swizz Beatz among other noted hitmakers. The album also includes the bangers "Sittin' On 23z" and the title track "Cali Iz Active". In the beginning, Daz and Kurupt were two of several artists on the Death Row roster. Both made minor contributions to Dre's The Chronic before making substantially larger contributions to Snoop's Doggystyle. In fact, their omnipresence on Snoop's album spawned the opportunity to capitalize on that album's success; it was no surprise then when Death Row tagged Daz and Kurupt as Snoop protégés, tagging them tha Dogg Pound for promotional reasons. Granted, Snoop played a large role in tha Dogg Pound, as did Nate Dogg, but with the release of Dogg Food, it was undeniably clear that Daz and Kurupt needed no mentoring. Either way, it wasn't long before Daz and Kurupt embarked on full-fledged solo careers. Kurupt had success with Tha Streetz Iz a Mutha while Daz released R.A.W. Yet with Dre's return in 2000 and the steady West Coast rap renaissance that began as a result, Death Row dug through their vaults — as they had done for similar Snoop and 2Pac releases — assembling what would eventually surface as tha Dogg Pound's 2002. The album featured appearances by the likes of 2Pac, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, a remix of Jay-Z's "Change the Game" featuring the Roc-A-Fella clique, and a Dr. Dre-produced lead single, "Just Doggin." www.kochrecords.com For more uncensored music videos visit the DMV channel on NO GOOD TV at http://www.ngtv.com/?channelId=dmv&clipIdNum=537033450 NO GOOD TV stars Carrie Keagan and Shark Firestone and showcases over a dozen original shows featuring raw, real and uncensored interviews with the biggest stars in the world from music, movies and TV.
