City of Heroes - Incarnate
And here comes number twenty! Created as a 'commemorative' video for a certain in-game anniversary that takes place on July 10th, "Incarnate" takes you all the way back to the beginning...
This video took a tremendous amount of work, not only in the creation of its special effects, but also in its concept development. A series of conversations with lead City of Heroes writer Hero 1 (as well as the novel WEB OF ARACHNOS) helped flesh out some of the events you see here, while the rest is my own unique interpretation!
It was tremendous fun making this, because I still just LOVE the opening and closing sequences. Also, the voice acting cast has now expanded to five! (The Sinclair Syndicate continues to thrive, heh heh heh.)
Two pieces of music by one of my favorite composing teams enhance this video - "Anticipation" and "Progeny", by Brand X Music. Once again transitioning smoothly from one to the other (thanks to some custom editing!), that sense of wonder, power, and raw energy just sweeps a listener along.

Second Incarnation - The Last Battle

This is about the end of the second book, "Save the Magic", and the beginning in the third, "Retunr of Darkness".
END OF "SAVE THE MAGIC": The Alliance faces Andernilwen's army in the greatest battle ever. Sandra's dressed like a man so that Andernilwen won't go for her first. Andernilwen uses dragons to chase away the magicians on brooms and old Sith-lords and other enemies from the Republic to keep the Jedis away. When one of the dragons land, Sandra uses her sword to kill it. Andernilwen runs towards her to get revenge, but Sandra rushes off into the distance. If she puts up a fight with Andernilwen right now, she won't be able to save Nevyn.
As the battle progresses, the Alliance loses more and more men and strength. Aragorn's ghost-army helps, but only a little. Suddenly, a bugle sounds from the enemies. Two of Andernilwen's men has led out Nevyn on a cliff over the battlefield. They pushes him over it and Sandra screams. She helps Nevyn down with her magic and then reveals herself in front of the smiling queen. Obi-Wan sees what happens from a distance and rushes to help his love, but he's too far away. Andernilwen uses a dark curse to push Sandra away and empty her strength. Then she takes up a sword and kills Nevyn. Sandra screams, before gathering her last strengths and killing Andernilwen. Then she falls down upon Nevyn's body.
BEGINNING OF "RETURN OF DARKNESS": The Alliance stands still as the Moriquendi runs away. Gandalf feels how something breaks inside of him. Meters away are the bodies of Navyn and Sandra. Obi-Wan comes closer, wondering if he's lost the woman he loves. Lilith is the first one to reach the bodies, she lifts up Sandra and studies her. There are no signs of life and Lilith begins to cry. Then Sandra caughs and everyone realises she is alive but needs to rest.
When Sandra's gathered enough strength to ride, the Alliance returns to Hogwarts II south of the Ruby. Nevyn's placed in Gandalf's and Sandra's chamber to rest before the funeral. Sandra cries over Nevyn's body. Gandalf doesn't know what to do. He has lost his brother. After a while, he says "We have to let go..."
Then the funeral begins. All the members of the Alliance are there, sorrowing the great magician's death. His body's placed on top of some wood and a fire is lit to burn his body and let his soul go. One by one the members leave the fire, after a while Sandra's the only one left. She cries as she walks away and blames herself for Nevyn's death.
