Bayani Warriors: Gawad Kalinga
This is a slideshow capturing the memories of my recent trip to the Philippines while taking part in Gawad Kalinga. I made this for the Filipino League at Seton Hall's Annual Dance Troupe Competition, an event that will raise money for the Gawad Kalinga movement.
Gawad Kalinga is a group that seeks to rid the Philippines of corruption and injustice by eradicating poverty. It sounds like a lofty goal but after seeing what I saw, I know that with hard work and determination, it's definitely possible.
As a Filipino Martial Artist, I realize that just being able to fight is not enough. The FMAs have opened the doors of my heart to my culture and the country my ancestors came from. I hope this video reflects that.
