Noel McKoy - Determined Man
I'm so excited to have at last finished editing the best new song that I cut last year. We wrote and produced this last October, so it's just six months old, and this video has "only" taken two months to finally get finished - but boy oh boy was it worth it. Noel McKoy is probably the greatest real true soul singer living in England at the moment. He reminds me of a cross between Bobby Womack and David Ruffin, and his voice gives me goosebumps. We cut three tracks on him so far, "Determined Man", "Read Between The Lines", and "Shadow Of A Dream". Noel really is a singer from the school of soulful story telling and social commentating, who writes from the heart and delivers from the soul. Noel McKoy's raw rasping texture from the pen to the acoustic style of production gives the dynamic sound that will take you on a voyage of human emotion. It is no surprise that Noel Mckoy's artistic development is inspired from the legendary greats such as, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Isley Brothers, Rick James, Miles Davis and The Beatles but it would be closer to home, which would encourage him to sing. It was his mother and auntie who set him off in the right direction of singing and performing at the young age of 12 and then going on to record his first track at the age of 14. By 18 he was mastering the art of song writing and playing guitar but it would be at a later age of 24 that he would be part of a band named 'Mckoy' which, consisted of sister Junett and two brothers Cornell and Robin. The early 90s gave birth to the sound of Acid Jazz and Noel Mckoy was fronting the legendary band James Taylor Quartered (JTQ) and also collaborating with 'Omar' and 'Incognito'. Noel Mckoy is without a doubt one of Britain's most critically acclaimed Soul Singers who's performed and toured the world with several UK & International acts including the likes of Womack & Womack, Roy Ayes, Gladys Knight, George Clinton, James Taylor Quartet, Mica Paris, Sounds Of Blackness, Steve Williamson and Linton 'Kwesi' Johnson. This song is Northern Soul at its scintillating best.

Noel McKoy - My Claim To Fame
I have previously cut six songs so far on this amazing singer, and this is the seventh, for my new album "Yesterday And Tomorrow". Noel McKoy's brand new and utterly amazing version of my 1978 US Disco chart topping classic, "My Claim To Fame", is the perfect re-make of a hit which ended up being appraised, in Billboard Magazine, as the fourth biggest Disco hit of the entire year of 1978, at the analysis at the year's end. And of course this is yet another performance for my oh so important new project. My brand new album, "Yesterday And Tomorrow", is probably the most dear to my heart project that I have ever undertaken. I decided after thirty three years since I made my very first record, "Reaching For The Best" by The Exciters, to take a trip back down memory lane and recut thirty of my classics on artists who I am currently working with, reinterpreting them in 2008 without losing the magic that made them special in the first place. It's a totally self indulgent project, but one which already has my fans salivating with delight. I first got the idea when I recut Evelyn Thomas's wonderful classic "Have A Little Faith In Me" with Ebony Alleyne, last year. So I'm doing thirty in total, twenty four for the CD and six more extra ones for the DVD, picking either my biggest hits, my most beloved tracks, or the songs which people most requested to see a video. As I must clearly explain, these are not the original versions. And that's what makes the project exciting and new. These are brand spanking new interpretaions of the classics, by Centre City's current roster of artists , built up over a thirty three year career of making records. REACHING FOR THE BEST - WEAK SPOT - YOUR MAGIC PUT A SPELL ON ME - BABY I'M STILL THE SAME MAN - HE'S SO IRREPLACEABLE - MY HEAD'S IN THE STARS - NO WAY OUT - LOOKS LIKE LOVE IS HERE TO STAY - I'M IN WONDERLAND- TWENTY FOUR HOURS A DAY - MY CLAIM TO FAME - TRUE LOVE IS MY DESTINY - NEVER LET GO - NEW YORK'S ON FIRE - SO MANY MEN SO LITTLE TIME - HIGH ENERGY - HE'S A SAINT HE'S A SINNER - ON A CROWDED STREET - CLOSE TO PERFECTION - ALL OVER THE WORLD - MY HEART KEEPS BEATING FASTER - TECHNICOLOUR - FOOTSTEPS FOLLOWING ME - I FOUND HEAVEN - MORE TO THIS WORLD - FAN THE FLAME - I CAN'T ERASE THE THOUGHTS OF YOU - DANCING ON THE EDGE OF A DREAM - RUNNING IN ANOTHER DIRECTION - WALKING ON AIR. Noel McKoy is probably the greatest real true soul singer living in England at the moment. He reminds me of a cross between Bobby Womack and David Ruffin, and his voice gives me goosebumps. We first cut three tracks on him in 2006, "Determined Man", "Read Between The Lines", and "Shadow Of A Dream". Noel really is a singer from the school of soulful story telling and social commentating, who writes from the heart and delivers from the soul. This James Wells classic hit song is a combination of Disco and Northern Soul at its scintillating best.

Noel McKoy - Shadow Of A Dream
Noel McKoy is probably the greatest real true soul singer living in England at the moment. He reminds me of a cross between Bobby Womack and David Ruffin, and his voice gives me goosebumps. We cut three tracks on him so far, "Determined Man", "Read Between The Lines", and this beautiful Motownish fingersnapper, "Shadow Of A Dream". Noel McKoy - Chasing Illusions
PLEASE READ THIS. THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT. Up to today, I have put three hundred and eleven videos up here on YouTube, and they have been viewed nearly two million times, according to my account information on my home page. Two million hits is, I feel, a pretty amazing achievement for the music that I love. Well basically, if my hundreds of long long hours putting up free videos for you to watch, have brought you any form of enjoyment or satisfaction at all, then PLEASE PLEASE, I ask you, no I BEG you to do just one thing in return. PLEASE support the "Yesterday And Tomorrow" album, and show me that you care about this music. I have put my heart and soul, and thirty three years of my career into this album, and we're flying blind, doing it ourselves and without a distributor. Unless people take the trouble to go to our website, which at the moment has a direct link to the album on E-Bay, or unless people go onto amazon.co.uk and search for the album, they are simply not going to find it in their local shop. I put a huge amount of loving care into these videos on YouTube, and nearly two million hits prove it's not in vain. Surely you can spend just fifteen pounds of your money and buy it, just to show me I am not wasting my time. PLEASE do this for me, PLEASE. It's painful and heartwrenching to see it sell so little, mainly because it's not easily available. So PLEASE show me your support, and I shall continue to do my bit to bring you this music. I ask you not to ignore this plea - I need to see a sign that people care. I would hate to be so disheartened that I remove all my 311 videos from here. So just this once, all I ask of you is to do your bit, and please buy this one CD. I have now cut seven songs so far on this amazing singer, including "My Claim To Fame" for my new album "Yesterday And Tomorrow". Noel McKoy - Skating On Thin Ice
I have now cut six songs so far on this amazing singer, and am about to cut the seventh, for my new album "Yesterday And Tomorrow". "Skating On Thin Ice" is one of the key songs from our album, "Northern Soul 2007", which we released last September on Centre City Records and is still available to buy. There are still some small minded people who call themselves fans of Northern Soul who refuse to accept that anybody can make a new record that sounds like the real thing. Well if this isn't Northern Soul, then I'm a country and western singer from Outer Mongolia. This to me is the real McCoy, and I am so proud and excited with it. On September 3rd 2007, we finally released my utterly fabulous exciting new album called "Northern Soul 2007", distributed by Expansion Records and Passion Music. This new album consisted of twenty four brand new 2007 songs by soul and disco legends, including Leee John, Gee Morris, The Flirtations, Voices With Soul, Ebony Alleyne, Noel McKoy, and lots of others. Each song has an accompanying video of the artist basically performing it the studio and in outside locations. Because a lot of my fans on MySpace and YouTube have been begging me to do this, I decided to get up and make it happen, so there is a giveaway DVD with the CD showing the same twenty-some songs, all being performed in the same running order as the CD. The work that we have all put into this project is quite staggering, and I hope it will break down the barriers between the older Northern Soul stalwarts and a new generation who need younger acts who still produce the same vibe we all witnessed forty years ago for Motown's glory years. Play the CD, watch the DVD, and give new Northern Soul a chance this time. Noel McKoy is probably the greatest real true soul singer living in England at the moment.
