Kit Siang: Zam 'Minister of Mis-information'
Minister of Mis-information - this was the new title conferred upon Information Minister Zainuddin Maidin by Parliamentary Opposition Leader YB Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Ipoh Timur) in the Dewan Rakyat today.
"It is unfair to say that Al Jazeera had conspired with the opposition. The truth is, RTM had conspired with Barisan Nasional to report negatively. And the order was given by the information minister (Zainuddin), who is the minister of mis-information," Lim added.

Anonymous VS Scientology pt.4: Censorship & Misinformation

What people do not understand, they fear. Let me give you a PERFECT example that comes straight from my home town - the Aqua Teen Hunger Force bomb scare (I'm sure you're familiar with it, but google it if not).
Try and tell a group of elderly folks what the internet is, and you'll get nothing but a bunch of blank stares and head shakes - they do not understand, nor do they want to. Understanding the culture and attitude of the body politic of the internet without having been there to form it is like explaining magic tricks to a blind guy: it's simply not happening. This explosion of information and communications have simply blown past the older generation, and it's too far gone for them to ever pick it up and attempt to understand it - just listen to Ted Stevens trying to explain it ("The internet is a series of tubes.")
But here's the problem with that - our government, indeed ALL governments, are formed by this generational gap, that is, they're formed of elderly people who have absolutely no grasp on the pop-culture of today, which of course includes the infinite resources and ways of the internet. Concluding to this hypothesis brings us right back to where we started - our governments do not understand what's going on, and therefore fear it.
With the violent events of the past years loaming every word spoken in this new century (we're talkin' Columbine, the anthrax scare, the Oklahoma bomber, 9/11, so on and so forth), everything said is analyzed and dubbed over as a threat. This paranoia has caused much stress and loss to the people who actually understand what is going on, and it seems en light of recent events involving the Anon VS Scientology issue caught on as equally threatening as, say, some crazy Muslim with ten pounds of C4 and a vendetta.
I feel this is because it's not only the mist of ignorance towards Anonymous and where it comes from, but also ignorance towards Scientology and its actions or origins. You see, if the government is unaware of just how horrible Scientology is, it sees it merely as any other religion. So when it sees a group of "hackers on steroids" as they're called, physically getting up and protesting against Scientology, they see a mysterious, omnipotent power going after an "innocent religion." So in other words, it's like accidentally walking into a fake bank robbery being filmed for a movie. All you know is there's a threat taking place, and therefore see it as some "serious shit." As is such, the ignorance that has led up to perceiving the actions of Anonymous as a national threat has caused the government to take full action into covering up this incident and attempting to put a stop to it before the media blows it out of proportion. But that brings us to a whole different side of the story, one that almost feels like a Tom Clancy novel.
Is it the government that's trying to keep this stuff hush-hush so they can further dismantle it into no more than a verbal struggle, or is it really Scientology paying these companies off? Ten minutes of research into the devious methods of Scientology will lead any right-minded person into realizing that bribes and lawsuits to the media is what keeps Scientology up and running. So yes, it's extremely possible that the reason these muffled voices comes straight from the Church of Scientology itself. Very spooky stuff.
Now before we all get into conspiracy theories about this shit, let's just look a few months back in TV history to support this detail: the media is easily influenced when it comes to religious matters, even if said religion is a cult. Take a look at the whole airing of Muhammad issue that we all had to deal with a while back. NO commercially networked station would show any image of Muhammad for fear of the Muslim's reaction. If this scenario can be applied to THIS situation, then a whole new statement of explanation comes into play.
So, is it just ignorance that has led to this attempted silencing of Anonymous? Or is it bribes? Or is it simply a trembling network executive who knows what Scientology could do to him if word got out that he aired an anti-Scientology fueled story? The future holds the answers, and I don't know about you, but I'm already salivating at the mouth to find the answers.
However, I think that one thing is VERY clear at this point: this is no longer about the laughs as many Anonymous folks have said. This is serious. This IS an all out war.

Parlimen Hari Ini: "Mis-Information Minister" blacked out
Unfair reporting by RTM1 Parlimen Hari Ini.
RTM did not put up the full debate in it's Parlimen Hari Ini programme on Tuesday night.
Although the newscaster mentioned that YB Lim Kit Siang was involved in another exchange of words with Zahid Hamidi as Deputy Information Minister concerning the massive peaceful public rally last Saturday, Kit Siang's speech was completely blacked-out.
What YB Lim Kit Siang as Parliamentary Opposition Leader said during the heated exchange was also completely blacked-out when RTM only aired part of Zahid Hamidi's reply during question time.
Kit Siang among other claimed that Minister of Information, Zainuddin Maidin as Minister of Mis-Information for his arrogant and shameful reply in answering question posed to him by Al-Jazeera on Bersih's gathering.
If Zam is talking about putting up Kit Siang's blog in RTM website, why can't him honour his own words by putting full content of what opposition MPs said in the Parliament?
