Narrative forms in the Digital Classroom
This semester we launched a pilot project, Worlds of Wordcraft: Digital Narrative and Virtual Reality (http://worldsofwordcraft.wordpress.com/about), a First Year Writing Seminar at Vanderbilt University. The mission of this class is similar to that of courses taught at nearly all post-secondary educational institutions: to teach students to think critically and write effectively beyond the basic composition level. Our seminar focuses on how stories change as they cross from one media to another, from books to films to online games. We begin with The Lord of the Rings, a work at the intersection of canonical literature (Old English texts, romance conventions, religious and mythical symbolism), popular culture, and multiple media formats. Tolkien's novels have been the inspiration not only for Peter Jackson's successful films but for a vast array of games from paper-and-pencil based Dungeons and Dragons to nearly all of the early MMOs such as Ultima Online and EverQuest to the most popular current MMO, World of Warcraft. In spring 2007, Turbine released Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO), the game we have chosen to represent MMOs in our study.
Juxtaposing a story in three media prompts questions about such fundamental aspects of narrative as character, point of view, and the experience of space and time, as well as more theoretical considerations such as Who is the author of an interactive work? How does the inclusion of sound, graphics, voice, text, and the ability to move around in a virtual world alter one's experience of narrative? and What is one's subject position in relation to each medium?
At the same time, the project explores the potential of social networking and other digital tools for managing course content, documenting class discussions, facilitating peer editing, and disseminating student-created knowledge. The course blends tools with which students are already familiar—Facebook, YouTube, blogs, and podcasts—with freely available productivity software—Google Documents, Microsoft Live Office, and iTunes University—to demonstrate that students are producers as well as recipients of knowledge. Leveraging college-age students' pre-existing digital competencies in the literature classroom has the potential to encourage active engagement, group participation, teacher-student interaction, and connections to real world contexts.

A bomb threat set to challenge every minute that passes with a dangerous charm. But, if you ask Jimmy himself what it is that moves him to create, I promise you he will respond with a modest laugh, and nothing more.

German challenge to Holocaust-Shoah Narrative
Dirk Zimmermann is a 36-year-old happily married family man who challenges Section 130 of the Criminal Code that prohibits doubting the legally-sanctioned Holocaust-Shoah narrative. He sent Germar Rudolf's 'Lectures on the Holocaust' to German public figures, then turned himself in to the police for having violated Section 130.
It is a conscious act because Zimmermann demands he has a right to doubt.

The Gist Settlement Narrative
The Gist Settlements, Samuel Gist, a wealthy Englishman, made his fortune in America. He started out as an indenturedhttp://www.youtube.com/my_videos_edit2?video_id=IIoADVtbWlE&ns=1# servant. Mr. Gist established the Gist Settlements in 1810 near Ripley Ohio. The catalyst for his action was a desire to free slaves from his estranged daughter, Mary Anderson, an heiress and wealthy Virginia planter. The legal war culminated when Mr. Gist threatened, in his will, to bequeath Mary a mere shilling if she did not honor his wishes and emancipate her slaves. In addition to emancipation, Gist stipulated that settlements include churches and schools. He ordered that each slave be given a plot of land. His will was met with political resistance which prompted Samuel Gist to wage the most publicized legal war against slavery prior to Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. In 1804 Gist hired the most learnt dream team of his day, which was led by William Wickham, (known for representing Aaron Burr, Alexander Hamilton's murderer). Executing Samuel Gist's will, Wickham purchased over 2000 acres of land in Brown and Highland Counties. At the time, this represented the largest recorded transaction dedicated to slave emancipation. The Gist Settlements proved vital in the development and operation of the Underground Railroad. This large haven for free African Americans attracted fugitives seeking temporary asylum on their journey to freedom. This is truly a classic American story; A hollywood classical. Godannar narrative tagged trailer
In 2042, alien threats known as the Mimetic beasts laid waste to Japan. During a final battle against the Mimetic beasts, Goh defeats the alien "boss" and saves his future wife, Anna, with his robot called "Dannar."
Now, on their wedding ceremony, the Mimetic beasts emerge after five years of tranquility. Goh and his robot, Dannar, are called to action, forcing Goh to leave Anna at the altar.
As Goh struggles in his battle against the Mimetic beast, Anna stumbles upon a top secret robot known as the "Neo-Okusaer". She is able to pilot Neo-Okusaer to save her fiancee by merging it with Dannar to form the mighty robot "Godannar."
The series (both seasons) is famous for its fanservice: upskirt shots, bouncing breasts, and the scantily clad female pilots.
There was also a dōjinshi made by staff which was sold to fund the production of the second series.

The 2008 model of the 520i has gotten a new engine: a 2.0 liters 4 cylinders instead of the R6 2.2 liters. High compression and new piezo injector technology keeps the performance on 170bhp/210 nm, but betters the fuel economy. BMW is considering bringing its diesel powered models to the United States in late 2008.
