Polish NAVY - Marynarka Wojenna
1918-2007
The Polish Navy (Marynarka Wojenna RP, MW RP, PMW (Polska Marynarka Wojenna)) is the branch of Poland's Armed Forces responsible for naval operations. It has 60 ships (including 5 submarines, 1 destroyer (museum), 2 frigates, 3 corvettes, 5 missile boats) and about 14,300 commissioned and enlisted personnel. The traditional ship prefix in the Polish Navy is ORP ( "Okręt Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej" - "Ship of the Polish Republic").
The Polish Navy is one of the bigger navies on the Baltic Sea. It is mostly responsible for Baltic Sea operations, including amphibious exercises with Polish Marines. Other duties include search and rescue operations covering the parts of the Baltic, as well as hydrographic measurements and research.
Recently the Polish Navy played a more international role as part of the 2003 invasion of Iraq, specifically providing logistical support for the United States Navy.

1940 The French Navy at Sea
British Newsreel. May 2, 1940.After the World War I, the French Navy remained the 4th in the world, after the British, US and Japanese navies, but the Italian Navy, considered as the main enemy, was close. This order of fleets, with the French Navy equal to the Italian Navy, was sanctioned by the 1922 Washington Naval Treaty.Every naval fleet consists of a variety of ships of different sizes, and no fleet has enough resources to make every vessel supreme in its class. Nonetheless, different countries strive to excel in particular classes. Between the world wars, the French fleet was remarkable in its building of small numbers of ships that were "over the top" with relation to their equivalents of other powers. For example, the French chose to build "super-destroyers" which were deemed during the Second World War by the Allies as the equivalent of light cruisers. The Le Fantasque class of destroyer is still the world's fastest class of destroyer. The Surcouf submarine was the largest and most powerful of its day. The Dunkerque class battleships, designed specially to fight the German so-called pocket battleships, were, in spite of their relatively small size, very well-balanced designs and precursors of a new fast battleship generation in the world. The Richelieu class full-size battleships are considered by some experts as most successful battleships, built under displacement limits of Washington Treaty in the world.

Navy Hymn: Eternal Father (Strong to Save)
Sung by the Sea Chanters chorus of the US Navy Band.
Info from http://www.history.navy.mil/faqs/faq53-1.htm :
The song known to United States Navy men and women as the "Navy Hymn," is a musical benediction that long has had a special appeal to seafaring men, particularly in the American Navy and the Royal Navies of the British Commonwealth and which, in more recent years, has become a part of French naval tradition.
The original words were written as a hymn by a schoolmaster and clergyman of the Church of England, the Rev. William Whiting. Rev. Whiting (1825-1878) resided on the English coast near the sea and had once survived a furious storm in the Mediterranean. His experiences inspired him to pen the ode, "Eternal Father, Strong to Save." In the following year, 1861, the words were adapted to music by another English clergyman, the Rev. John B. Dykes (1823-1876) , who had originally written the music as "Melita" (ancient name for the Mediterranean island of Malta). Rev. Dykes' name may be recognized as that of the composer given credit for the music to many other well-known hymns, including "Holy, Holy, Holy," "Lead, Kindly Light," "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," and "Nearer, My God to Thee."
In the United States, in 1879 the late Rear Adm. Charles Jackson Train, an 1865 graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis was a lieutenant commander stationed at the Academy in charge of the Midshipman Choir. In that year, Lt. Comdr. Train inaugurated the present practice of concluding each Sunday's Divine Services at the Academy with the singing of the first verse of this hymn.
The hymn, entitled "Eternal Father, Strong to Save," is found in most Protestant Hymnals. It can be more easily located in these hymnals by consulting the "Index to First Lines" under "Eternal Father, Strong to Save." The words have been changed several times since the original hymn by Rev. Whiting was first published in 1860-61. One will find that the verses as now published differ from the original primarily in the choice of one or two words in several lines of each verse.

Nuclear War
It makes me really confused how this world is as it is.
Its like two kids fighting over a toy: "I want it....!""No!...I want it!!!"
There is no possible way of sharing the 'Toy', just like with the current state of Human behaviour, there is no possible way of sharing the world. We categorize the earth with Religions and races and so on. we build armies and navies and air force. We put billions if not trillions of dollars into weapons that kill and create horror. America alone has an arsenal of about 5,500 warheads to this day! 5,500!!! As well as facilities for their construction and design. Why the fuck would you need 5,500 nuclear warheads? why the fuck would you need 1? It blows my mind at the sheer insanity of the state of the world. Just the concept of a nuclear weapon is enough to stop and say: Hold up, hold up.are we actually talking about creating a weapon.that when triggered can wipe whole cities off the face of the earth????!!!! shouldnt we be putting all the amazing scientific minds to work on a way of benefiting the earth and all of its inhabitants??
nah, itll be right.lets just find a random city to throw it at.
What Im getting at is, the concept of war really makes no sense. And to ask the question : imagine the way the world would be if we all just got along. lets seriously just stop and imagine it..
But for there to be no war there would have to be first no concept of war. And therefore no need of war.
