The Obama and Odinga Connection
Raila Odinga, claimed cousin of Barack Obama, current Prime Minister of Kenya, ran for president of that country in 2007 and signed an agreement with Kenyan Muslim leaders in exchange for their support which promised UNDEMOCRATIC changes such as Sharia law in certain parts of Kenya, censorship of Christian programming on government airwaves, and a ban on Christian open-air gatherings in Muslim areas as well. Violence followed Odinga's failed attempt at the presidency of Kenya, and he and Obama have continued to be in touch long after Obama's return to the United States. Source links follow:

A few quotations from Odinga's agreement with the Muslims:
"Within 6 months re-write the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared regions."
"Within one year facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court in every Kenyan divisional headquarters."
"Popularize Islam, the only true religion, in the Coast and North Eastern Regions by ordering every primary school in Kenya in the regions to conduct daily Madrassa classes."
THE WORST:
"No Muslim residing in Kenya whether a citizen, visitor or relative of any of the above shall be subjected to any process involving the laws of a foreign country and in particular any Muslim arrested or suspected of Terrorism or any other International crime shall only be tried within the borders of Kenya and shall be granted a competent lawyer of his/her choice at the expense of the Government."
Not only does the above violate international treaties on criminal extradition, but also means that Kenya would be essentially a safe haven for terrorists -- the Taliban tried a similar ploy with Osama bin Laden.
"Impose a total ban on open-air gospel crusades by worshipers of the cross in the Coast and North Eastern regions."
"Outlaw gospel programs (preaching, purported faith healing, etc.) on KBC, the National Broadcaster."

Men Can Stop Rape honored Odinga as well as two other MOST Club members on April 29, 2008 at our Ninth Annual Men of Strength Awards, held at Washington, DC's National Press Club. Odinga is the recipient of the Frederick Douglass Activist Award and a $1,000 educational grant to be used for his first year in college.
Men Can Stop Rape's MEN OF STRENGTH (MOST) CLUB, considered as the premier primary prevention program for mobilizing high school and college men to prevent sexual and dating violence, has sites in every Washington, DC public high school, as well as sites in California, New York City, and North Carolina.
ABOUT ODINGA:
For many, the prospect of activism comes from an eye-opening experience. Odinga Johnson's eyes of action were opened during a trip to Ghana. Confronted with youth his age who worked two jobs to survive and still went to school, Odinga took it upon himself to inform his peers back in the States about what he saw. His Ghana experience and others like it sharpened Odinga's commitment to justice at home.
Acutely aware of the media's role in pushing attitudes of misogyny on the Black male community, especially through hip hop music, he is taking steps to use photography to show how there can be beauty within the hip hop community when there is respect between genders. He also hopes to use his photographic art to teach respect towards others.
Odinga says, "I act for and against many things in our society, but mostly towards the lack of respect of women in the African American population, particularly in the hip hop community."
Odinga's ability to translate his keen perceptions into action make him a model "man of strength."
