Greek Orthodox Christian Byzantine Music 1
This is a sample of Greek Orthodox Byzantine music chanted by nuns in a Monastery of northern Greek Mainland (Hsuxastirio Timiou Prodromou Akritoxoriou Sidirokastrou Serron). The Hymn is an extract from a book called "Theotokario" and it is dedicated to the Most Holy Mother of God (Theotokos, Virgin Mary). It is usually chanted in Greek monasteries during the afternoon (after Vespers). The pictures of the video come from a different monastery of Northern Greece (Giannitsa/Pella, Iera Moni Agiou Georgiou Anudrou).

This video presents sacred Russian music, performed by the Moscow Chamber Choir and the Monastery Choir of Trinity St Sergius. Set in the cathedrals, monasteries and sacred places in Moscow, the Golden Ring, and New Jerusalem, it includes the main Christmas masses at Epiphany (Yelokhovsky) and Assumption cathedrals; the special Epiphany Mass at Kazan Cathedral at Kolomenskoye; and an ordinary mass in the Church of the Resurrection at Kostroma (some three hundred kilometres from the Russian capital). The program ends with the Epiphany procession at the monastery of New Jerusalem and the great blessing of the waters.
