All's quiet in Pawling....or is it?
An extreme silence has fallen over the small town of Pawling, New York in Dutchess County. It is 2:20 in the morning and everybody in this little town is asleep. But wait...whats this? A horn sounds. Is it a truck randomly blowing at a deer? No. The silence is broken at the 1:02 mark, but only slightly, as Train 2902, the dead-head from Dover Plains to Putnam Junction, blows for River Road. The horn gets louder as he blows for Corbin Road. Then, FINALLY....WAKE THE FUCK UP, PAWLING! Train 2902 blasts through Pawling at 70MPH, blowing for Main Street with Shoreline I cab car 6117, The Sugar Maple in the lead with 3 Shoreline I coaches in all and FL9M's 2014 on the point and 2027 trailing. And then there is silence again. Just as soon as 2902 came barreling through Pawling, the silence has returned, and this sleepy little town can resume sleeping. Pawling vs Ketcham - 1983 Hockey Championship - Game 1
In honor of the 25th anniversary of the first broadcast, here is Game One of the 1983 Mid Hudson High School Hockey League Championship taped on March 23, 1983. This game featured a one goal game, a penalty shot, a stick challenge, and lots of excitement. Enjoy these highlights. Brickyard Hill Video televised games over Poughkeepsie Cable Channel 10 from 1983 through 1986 from the McCann Ice Arena at the Mid Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie.
