Schewardnadse "Russland hat einen gefährlichen Präzedenzfall geschaffen."
Als Außenminister der Sowjetunion leitete Eduard Schewardnadse zusammen mit Michael Gorbatschow die Perestroyka und das Ende der Sowjetunion ein. Danach bestimmt er fast ein Jahrzehnt als Präsident das Geschick seines Heimlandes Georgien. Auch die Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands soll Eduard Schewardnadse massgeblich vorangetrieben haben. Erst 2003 zwangen Straßenproteste, angeführt von der Opposition und Georgiens jetzigem Präsidenten Michail Saakaschwili, Schewardnadse zum Rücktritt. Mit euronews unterhält er sich über die Zukunft seines Landes und die Nachbarschaft zu Russland.
