Amazing Perth Christmas Lights 2008
40,000 LEDs, more than 5kms of cabling and 176 channels of light synchronised to music, all sponsored by Messages On Hold.com.au
Located in Bishop Riley Way Churchlands, there are several songs in the show and it runs nightly from dusk til we get tired. It finishes Christmas Eve and a tip; Come in early December to beat the traffic - and PLEASE, park along the foreshore or where directed otherwise we'll turn'em all off.
Last year we raised $12k for the children's hospital, we're aiming for $20k and as at Dec 4th the total stands at $1,172. If you can't drop by, call +61 (0) 8 9489 1100 or visit www.pmhfoundation.com to donate - mention you loved the MOH lights too.
The track is Music Box Dancer by DJ Schwerde. Display uses $5 of power per night, they're mostly LEDs.

Perth Time Freeze 2008
Inspired by Improv Everywhere's Frozen Grand Central, the people of Perth pull off their own Time Freeze - and The Couch was there to capture it all.
In the midst of torrential rains and a thunder storm, everyone met at the State Library to be briefed before dispersing throughout the Murray Street Mall.
When they heard the cue (the air horn) they were to FREEZE for 5 minutes. Watch for the expressions of people who don't know what's going on. Thanks to the hundreds of people who turned out. Cameras: Adrian and Liam :)

Amazing Perth Christmas Lights 2007
Our 2007 display, sponsored by Messages On Hold and Christmas Kingdom, featured 26,500 light bulbs, 128 lighting channels, 5 kilometres of cable, 250 man hours to set up and just $3.40/night in power to run.
This year's display is even bigger and runs from December 5 - 24th inclusive. Come early and pls park on the Foreshore to avoid angry neighbours.
Lights were synchronised to various music tracks (this one is Wizards in Winter by TSO) which were heard by motorists on 92.5FM.
Those visiting the Bishop Riley Way home in Churchlands WA during December 2007 chipped in $12,000 for the Princess Margaret Children's Hospital. A sterling effort.

Sinking of HMAS Perth DDG 38
On November 24th 2001 The HMAS Perth destroyer DDG38 (Charles F Adams class) was sunk in Albany harbour Western Australia to serve as a dive wreck, it has live webcams on its mast above & below the waterline so you can see the divers & fish in real time. Its forward turret is mounted at the Anzac memorial on Mt Clarence next to the US submariners memorial. http://www.hmasperth.com.au/home.html

Helicopter Ride Perth Western Australia
This is a helicopter ride over Perth Western Australia on Heli West. It goes over the city up to Hillarys, Scarborough beach, Cottesloe beach, Fremantle, and back up the Beautiful Swan River to the City of Perth, and land at Burswood Casino. The groovin' sounds of 'shine on you crazy diamond' by pink floyd tickles our ears.
