Photojojo Photo Safari to Treasure Island
Video I shot and edited together with Todd Lappin of Telstar Logistics, leading a free, public walking photo tour on Treasure Island, November 22, 2008. Organized by the website Photojojo.
A man-made island originally built to host a 1939 Worlds Fair, Treasure Island was once home to fantastic (but ephemeral) architecture, gala displays, and the (in)famous Gayway — a bawdy playland for Worlds Fair visitors. Treasure Island was also intended to serve as an airport. With the outbreak of World War II, the US Navy took over the island, and it remained in Navy hands until the base was closed in 1994. Elements of all this history survive to this day, but Treasure Islands abandoned state also makes the island feel spooky — like a post-Apocalyptic ghost town floating in the middle of San Francisco Bay.

Recoded: 10 May 2007
Locations: Brooklyn, Greenpoint, Manhattan, Columbus Circle, Williamsburg, Subway, NYC
Music: " wonder what i'll do today" by oldDog, featuring narva9
on thursday, 10 may 2007, i loaded up my laptop and a borrowed a Sony HVR-A1U and headed over to House 2.0 for a bit of Jelly NYC. after leaving my house in greenpoint and stopping to smell some flowers, I found myself on a motionless 7 train, wondering what joy and excitement would befall the day. little did i know, how much i would learn in such few hours. while the day was filled with standard enjoyment and pleasant conversations. it wasn't until the afternoon when i started filming did i really discover the important lessons.

My First Zombie Movie
I was inspired by a video and tutorial on making stop animation with photos on Photojojo. I took 300 some odd photos tagged with "zombie" off of Flickr via FlickrDown. All the photos have to be the same dimension for it to work so I wrote an Action in Photoshop to resize all the photos to 640x480 and ran a batch process. After that I used JPGVideo to animate the random photos into an AVI file. I then used Windows Movie Maker to add a title and some sound. Enjoy.
