Play Chesster, the chess game, play for free!
Chesster is an exciting variation of the ancient board game Chess. It's played as a normal 2-player multiplayer game of Chess, but with a significant difference: the board is 5 x 7 tiles instead of the normal 8 x 8. This also means that the number of pieces you have from the start is reduced to 10.
Chesster is played as a hectic version of Chess where time is always ticking away as you ponder your next move. You start with a limited amount of time, but receive extra time for capturing the opponent's pieces. You win the game if you checkmate your opponent, or if they run out of time before you do.
GAME RULES.
The game board is 5 columns wide and 7 rows high. Your pieces are always placed in the bottom part of the board. As the board is smaller than a standard chess board you only have one Rook, Knight and Bishop in Chesster, and only 5 Pawns. You can see the starting line up in the image above.
You play Chesster as normal Chess and move the pieces according to the standard Chess rules. Mark the piece you want to move and all possible moves will be highlighted. Pawns can make two step opening moves, you are able to use Castling to move your King and Rook in one move, and pawns that cross the board will be promoted. The only exception to the standard rules is that the "En Passant" move with the pawns is not possible in Chesster.
When the game is set up in the multiplayer lobby, the starting time allotted to each player is set up by the players. It possible to select different time intervals for each game. You're going to love playing Chester!
