Bliss - Netlag Do You Remember How It Felt?(Pleix)
We don't think there is only one 'visual style' in all the Pleix films. But there is an ambience, an atmosphere working on the edge of things.
The Pleix touch could be a common theme on limits, contradictions and accidents that show
the fragility of the digital world and the world in general. We all like producing tension by joining together heterogeneous graphics, videos and sounds.
Netlag combines footage from over 1609 live web cameras around the world. The music to Netlag is composed by Henrik José aka BLISS. The title of the track is Do You Remember How It Felt? - Pleix

Pleix, established 2001
Formed in 2001, Pleix are a virtual community of digital media artists - graphic designers, 3D artists and musicians based in Paris.
Pleix has exhibited work in numerous international contexts, including the Austin Museum of Digital Art, Texas, 2003; Resfest, San Paolo, 2004; the Future Film Festival, Bologna, 2004; and The Cube, Issey-Les-Moulineaux, 2004.
Pleix has also conducted workshops at the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, 2004.

Bleip CLICKS by Pleix

Pleix is a virtual community of digital artists based in Paris. Some of us are 3D artists, some others are musicians or graphic designers. They made Birds for Vitalic, with the flying dogs, and Cish Cash for Basement Jaxx with the helicopters and tanks choregraphy.
"Geneviève Gauckler fait partie du collectif Pleix. De par la diversité de ses réalisations (pochette de disques, sites internet, BD, clips,publicités) elle symbolise bien l'esprit du collectif ? Comment s'est déroulé cette rétrospective commune en 2004 à la ferme du buisson ?
Très bien, nous avons tous eu beaucoup de plaisir à partager nos oeuvres avec un autre public. Cela nous a permis de repenser nos créations dans un autre contexte. Retrouver l'espace réel, s'adresser à des corps réels est justement essentiel dans ce monde virtualisé dans lequel nous évoluons. Faire des installations nous a permis de prendre le temps, d'encadrer l'instant d'un projet. Parfois de rendre plus perméable l'espace entre le monde réel et l' imaginaire."

With this first release, Bleip exceeds musical divisions and takes us in playfull and strange universe at once. +1 is a tense combination of deconstructed sounds, soft melodies and accidents that produces a mutant music. Bleip is also a member of Pleix collective.

C'est souvent plus facile de travailler sur la vidéo et la musique en même temps. Tout est plus malléable... Avoir le choix de modifier soit les images soit le son pendant le montage nous donne une liberté que l'on à pas lorsque l'un de ces éléments est fixe et ne peut pas être modifié."
