It was Manchester Uniteds most complete performance of the season so far. It featured Cristiano Ronaldos first goal since his comeback and a moment of sublime skill from Ryan Giggs, but this was a night that will be recalled for one abysmal tackle.
Emanuel Pogatetzs two-footed lunge saw Uniteds young Brazilian midfielder, Rodrigo Possebon, carried off on a stretcher with a suspected broken leg.
