THE PRISONER Original Uncut Opening Sequence
The most discussed and controversial Cult TV Series ever made.
With the long running series "Danger Man" (Secret Agent in the US) Holding no further scope for development, Patrick McGoohan decided to quit from the series. This sudden and unalterable decision from McGoohan enraged ITC and its owner, Lew Grade, as the latest colour episodes had only been running for 2 weeks.
However when McGoohan suggested ITC fund a new spy series Grade agreed as he had always looked upon McGoohan as the "Golden Child" of ITC.
McGoohan felt that "Danger Man" had ran its course but the character of John Drake was worthy of further development in another format. This was therefore the original concept of "The Prisoner"
