Dutch group Risqué was formed by the Pins, who separated from Doris D. and The Pins after a quarrel about money. Their first single,
The Girls Are Back In Town, was an instant hit, followed by Burn It Up (Mr. D.J.). The latter only became only a hit in the Benelux after it turned out to be a big succes on the US dancefloors.
After the single 'Go for it!', they suddenly disappeared from the radar, not to be ever heard of again.

Dutch girl group Risque originally released Starlight back in 1982 - it is early 80s disco pop perfection with its swirling analog synths and other associated ethereal sounds plus such classic lyrics as "You, you're my Space Invader"

Even the most fervent fan of cosmic disco would have to admit there's something inherently ridiculous about the genre. Be it the overblown and hilarious guitar solos or the Buck Rogers-esque videos, there's no escaping the silliness. The trick with good cosmic is to have just the right amount of daftness without it falling over the edge into kitsch and stupid. 'Dirty Space Disco' gives you tracks that veer away from the edge, tracks that waver on the precipice and tracks that plunge headfirst into the abyss. In an ideal world DSD would be exclusively the former and with the context history allows you'd assume this would be the case.
