SOAS Professor: 'Global warming is a myth'
Philip Stott is Britain's leading climate-change denier and Professor of Biogeography at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
He has built a career on slating environmentalists and displays an extreme antipathy towards those with concerns about genetic engineering, portraying them as left-wing extremists.
In May 2001, the American Embassy and SOAS jointly hosted a Conference that advanced the interests of Genetically Modified crop manufacturers. Stott chaired the conference, and not a single representative from any environmental organisation spoke at the event.
The environment correspondent of The Guardian has described Prof. Stott as 'an alarming academic' who pushes George W. Bush's agenda.
The Director of the Environmental Research Foundation has said of Stott: 'It is evident that Professor Stott has abandoned his role as a serious scholar and has become a cheerleader for the biotech industry.'
In this videoed speech to a largely American audience, Stott presents his case against climate change, styling himself as an expert on the issue, despite his never having had a single paper published in a scientific journal in the fields in which he most frequently applies this 'expertise', e.g. climate change or tropical ecology.

SOAS Academic Shirin Akiner is Uzbekistan Regime Agent
Lecturer in Central Asian Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, Dr Shirin Akiner has been condemned by human rights groups, liberty campaigners and Craig Murray (ex-UK Ambassador in Tashkent) as an apologist for brutal Uzbek dictator President Karimov. This short report on the Andijan massacre concludes with an interview with Dr Akiner in which she attempts to downplay and justify the horrific murders by Karimov's regime.
In late 2005, shortly after this video was first broadcast, complaints against Akiner flooded in to the then Director of SOAS, Colin Bundy. Mr Bundy, to the outrage of many, publicly defended Akiner in her justification of the massacre of the peaceful Uzbekistan opposition.
SOAS continues to employ Akiner in a prominent role, whilst mainstream British broadcast media outlets appear to have decided to no longer invite her to comment on Central Asian affairs.
Viewers may wish to complain to her present boss:
Professor Paul Webley, Director and Principal of SOAS
