Marvin Stamm - Alone Together
"Alone Together" "We have played this lovely Arthur Schwartz/Howard Dietz tune many times, but not in this fashion. Rufus started vamping on this "feel," and the tune just took its own direction. Much of the music in our performances happens this way."

Baubles, Bangles and Beads - Marvin Stamm
This tune is taken from Alexander Borodin's 2nd String Quartet and was made popular in the 1950's by trumpeter Jonah Jones. Bill Mays and I have been enjoying playing it for a while and decided to add it to the quartet's repertoire. The body is played in 3/4 time, but the "bridge," or middle section, is played in 4/4.
