DEAR BRITNEY FANS,
It has been about one week since I had put up the Britney Spears Quicksand instrumental. Allow me to inform you, officially, that the instrumental, first posted by me, is FAKE. This was a song that I had created on a boring Saturday morning. It had been put up onto YouTube for a school project, which needed to provide an eye-catching title, download link to my song, and along with anything else it comes with. The goal was to reach 100 views in one week. This had to have been done through family and friends watching this. If the video had reached 100 views, you were to get the "A" on the project. Much to my surprise, the video had become an almost instant sensation among both the Britney fans and people who were interested in her music. The video had been put up on August 31, 2008, within almost five days later, it reaches over the 50,000 view mark. That's about 8 to 12,000 views a day (depending on which days the video was most popular at). It had not been my intention for it to become as huge as it is. The day after I had put the video on YouTube, a friend had told me that I was all over Google search and on all these Britney fan sites. It has become so big, that both Google and YouTube both show it as a "suggestion". Yes, I am very pleased that my song had gone this far, and had been downloaded much over 6,000 times. I understand that 99% of this was due to the fact that it had been a new "Britney" leak. I also understand it would not have gone NEARLY as big as it is now, if I had named it something else. Power of Britney? Yeah, pretty much. Yes, this instrumental is MY instrumental, no one else's. There are numerous videos on YouTube with my song on it. Proof? Just type in Britney Spears Quicksand in the search bar, and there are about ten to twelve videos with my song on there. All of this, within five days. Most of you are going to ask, "Why haven't you taken down the video?" Well, one of two things: 1. My project had not been finished, therefore, the removal of this video had not been allowed, and 2. The comments and honesty I am receiving from all of you, towards judging my song, is great. I love all the comments, even the ones who hate the song. This, honestly, helps me improve my music skills. When I get older, I do want to become a music producer or a singer, or if possible, both. Yes, I support Britney Spears 100%. I have purchased all her albums for she always delivers well with music. Although, I must say, even if you will hate me after reading this letter, thank you for all the downloads, video uploads, and putting them on Britney fan sites. I also want to thank all the Britney fans for passing the video around and making it as big as it is. After all, like said on a Britney fan site, this had been the biggest Britney instrumental leak before the official version had been released. Meaning, this had been the biggest instrumental, whether it was real or fake, and it had not been official. I will not be changing the song title because I want full accreditation for my song, and my friend had informed me that if you change the title of a video, your "date added" for the video will change, thus making it seem like this is not my song. And yes, I own this song, and it is 100% mine! All of you have a great year. Britney, if for some reason you read this, Good luck with everything you do, I will still be here to support you. VMA's, Sunday 9-7-08, 9PM, watch it and support Spears. All in all, thank you for making this video as huge as it is. I am happy I am getting recognition for my song. I hope you will all still enjoy it, even if it is fake. By the way, do not believe any instrumentals until they have become "officially worded" by JIVE or Britney herself. Thank you very much, and I hope I did not cause any trouble. Oh, and I am thrilled most of you LOVE my song. Hopefully, I will become a future music producer and/or singer.***
