Ultimate Superheroes Movies Tribute! By Clara.
PLEASE, READ BEFORE COMMENTING:
This is my tribute to my favorite superheroes in cinema.
MUSIC: "Vespertilio" and "Myotis" by James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer, from the score of "Batman begins", and "Wake up" by Rage Against the Machine.
It seems everyone has a different idea of what a superhero is (it's funny that some think Neo isn't, or V isn't, or even Batman isn't, but nobody wonders why Hulk is a superhero).
Anyway, ALL the heroes in my video share AT LEAST ONE OF THESE THREE elements:
1.-Superpowers
2.-Some kind of double identity
3.-A special costume, mask or outfit
But what's more important, they ALL SHARE THE SPIRIT of the superhero: the man that, standing alone, fights for justice, to protect others, cause he can do it better than anyone thanks to his habilities (biological or technological).
Rules are relative in the superheroes world, why see only the differences between them? Why not trying to see what makes them all part of an admirable collective?
Don't bother saying "this or that is not a superhero"... I just gave you a couple of reasons why they all are to me but I can give you 10 more. Being based on a comic book or not has nothing to do with it, we're talking about cinema. I never know if I should laugh or cry when I read that lame theory "a superhero is a character from a comic book"... So Brad Bird's "The Incredibles" aren't superheroes then? And "From Hell"'s Inspector Abberline is a superhero? C'mon...
I made this video as a tribute to movies I love. I had to make choices, and making choices and editing a video like this isn't easy, so if someone thinks that he has the right to tell me "you Should have included" or "you Shouldn't have included", I hope he has a better video than mine in his channel, cause otherwise I don't see why his opinion should be worth at all.
Featured superheroes:
- Christopher Reeve as Superman
- Michael Keaton as Batman
- Brandon Lee as The Crow
- Wesley Snipes as Blade
- Keanu Reeves as Neo
- Tobey Maguire as Spiderman
- Eric Bana as Hulk
- Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
- Halle Berry as Storm
- Famke Jansen as Jean Grey
- Ron Pearlman as Hellboy
- Selma Blair as Liz Sherman
- Hugo Weaving as V
- Christian Bale as Batman
- Brandon Routh as Superman
(There's also a little clip of Liam Neeson as Darkman at 0:22).
I saw "Iron Man" and it's great. I'm tempted to redo this to include him but I like the video the way it is now, I might make a whole new edit in a few months (so I can include "The Dark Knight", "Hellboy 2" and "The Incredible Hulk")... or even wait for "Watchmen" in 2009...
THINGS YOU WON'T FIND HERE:
· Movies I don't like: "Superman 3", "Superman 4", "Supergirl", "Flash Gordon", "Batman forever", "Batman & Robin", "Spawn", "The Phantom", "Daredevil", "Elektra", "Blade Trinity", "Matrix Reloaded", "Matrix Revolutions", "Catwoman", "Van Helsing", "The League of Extraordinary Men", "The Punisher", "X-Men 3", "Spider-man 3", "Ghost Rider", "The Fantastic Four" and "The Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer" (most of these films are in every Top 10 Worst Superhero Movies, do I need to explain why I didn't want them in my video?).
· Some movies I like but I don't think they fit in this video: "Unbreakable", "Rocketeer", "Constantine", "The Shadow", "Darkman" and "The Incredibles".
THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING DIRECTORS: Richard Donner, Richard Lester, Sam Raimi, Tim Burton, Alex Proyas, Stephen Norrington, Bryan Singer, Christopher Nolan, Guillermo del Toro, Ang Lee, the Wachowski Brothers and James McTeigue.
If you liked this video, I recommend checking the video response above it, a video called "Delusions of Grandeur: The Supervillains Waltz" by brutzelpretzel, cause it's fucking great.
