CHARLATAN ARABE:
La familia Timaliidae o charlatanes del Viejo Mundo es una familia grande de aves Passeriformes presentes mayormente en el Viejo Mundo. Son más bien diversas en tamaños y coloración, pero están caracterizadas por tener plumaje de plumón suave. Estos son aves de áreas tropicales, con su mayor variedad en el sudeste de Asia. El herrerillo chochín (Chamaea fasciata) es una especie enigmática que fue ubicada recientemente entre las Timaliidae, pero probablemente no pertenece a esta familia. Además de los charlatanes, miembros de la familia Timaliidae, se conocen como charlatanes de Australasia a otras aves no relacionadas, miembros de la familia Pomatostomidae, también conocidas como seudo-charlatanes.
Los charlatanes son aves de piernas fuertes, muchas son bastante terrestres. Este grupo no realiza largas migraciones, y la mayoría de las especies tienen alas cortas y redondeadas, y un vuelo débil. La diversidad morfológica es más bien alta, la mayoría de las especies se parecen a chipes, a grajos, o a tordos. Este grupo es una de las familias del Viejo Mundo en las que se están descubriendo el mayor número de especies nuevas para la ciencia.
VIBORA:
Las víboras son, en sentido estricto, las serpientes pertenecientes a la subfamilia Viperinae, que junto con los crótalos (Crotalinae) forman la familia de los Vipéridos (Viperidae).
Son famosas por su veneno, probablemente el más potente entre los animales presentes en Europa. Durante las Guerras Púnicas se lanzaban a los buques enemigos en el curso de las batallas navales, y hasta el siglo XVII su uso como ponzoña en los banquetes fue una forma corriente de eliminar a los rivales políticos.
