Star Dandiya 2008
Dandiya is a featured dances of Navratri evenings in North India, originating in Gujarat. Navaratri is the longest Hindu festival celebrated all over India for nine consecutive nights in praise of Lord Rama and Goddess Durga from the end of September to early October.
Celebrate Dandiya in style in Dubai at Wonderland Theme Park on Thursday, October 2 and Friday, October 3 with performances by Star TVs dance reality show Nach Baliye winners Tina, Hussein, Aamir and Sanjeeda.
Tina and Hussein are the winners of Nach Baliye Season 2 while Aamir and Sanjeeda are the winners of Nach Baliye Season 3. They will be joined by Indias hottest female DJ Lil B who will be making her debut in Dubai, Middle Easts Number 1 DJ Cowboy, Masters of the Mix DJ Jeff, DJ Shadow & DJ Tushar. The show is hosted by the best RJs in town Gaurav and Kritika.
Tickets are priced at AED 35 for singles, AED 60 for couples and AED 100 for a Family of Four. Tickets can be bought from Sind Punjab and Puranmal Restaurants in Dubai or from Wonderland.

Dandiya dancing festival
Riding high on the festive spirits a wave of dandiya on skates sweeps through Gujarat. "Dandiya" or stick dance is a major attraction of the nine-day long Navratri festival, with people, especially young girls and boys dressed in colourful traditional attires, thronging various gatherings. This year some of the adventurous ones have caught the public's imagination by displaying the traditional dance on roller skates - and their parents are loving the new innovation.
