Perfect Hackintosh 10.5.1 - EFI and Vanilla Kernel
The RatSim team managed to build a perfect PC configuration to run MacOS X Leopard. We are using Vanilla Kernel + EFI, so, software updates without a problem! Everything is working, from CPU to GPU, with minor patches applied (Built-in sound)
As for extras, we bought a cheap VIA firewire card, working perfectly with a DV camera (Canon ZR60) and Firewire Audio Interface attached (Presonus Inspire), also, we're using a Edimax USB Wireless dongle (EW-7318USG), working perfectly with kismac (wardriving app)
The best thing is this machine was built for just 700 Brazilian Reais or US$ 400,00 (which could be much less expensive for people living in more developed countries without abusive taxes)
By the way, note that you're not allowed to have Mac OS X installed on a PC, also, we're MacManiacs since 1984 or so, and we condone piracy, especially piracy of awesome software from Apple, but what we do condone more is the abusive prices here in Brazil for Macs and the total disrespect from Apple towards Brazilian Market, for instance, we hate the fact that something that belongs to us, such as an iPhone, is totally locked up for mediocre business agreements. The same applies to Intel Macs in a less aggressive way, because, hey... Come on... It's just a regular PC.
We really hope that Apple think different from now on, and release a SDK for the iPhone, as well opening MacOS X for the low and mid-end public. It's sad to see that Apple --still-- can't see this huge market (software) towards this direction (everyone), and the advantage of an enourmous gap that Vista, unlike previous versions, left behind. Someone have to fill this gap, will it be Linux, Google? Or will we be Windows XP slaves forever?
Wake up Apple!!! Go Leopard!!!
Don't get us wrong (A.K.A.; Don't Flame Us!), it's simply our opinion...

RAM - 2 x 1Gb Kingston ValueRam DDR2 667
Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E4500
GPU - Geforce 7300GS - Point of View
Cool extras (all working): Via Firewire Card, Presonus Inspire Audio Interface, FastTrack USB, Canon ZR60 Camcorder and recently tested: Cheap chinese Midi to Usb cable, bought off ebay for 5 bucks, working like a charm)

OSx86 Triple Boot (Vista, Ubuntu) GRUB + Working EFI
This is basically my experience and setup of a functional triple boot.
Firefox is not the reason the cursor creates artifacts. This is due to the Intel Graphics Card not working correctly because the driver is designed for the mobile chip.
I used two hard drives:
- 1 with Ubuntu Linux 7.10 + Vista [Prim]
- 1 with Osx86 (kalyway) [Sec]
Grub bootloader modified to boot into the EFI setup on the OSX partition by default.

Tην ημέρα που ο πρωθυπουργός μιλούσε στην 1η Παγκόσμια «Διάσκεψη για τη Διακυβέρνηση του Διαδικτύου» (μια ατυχής μετάφραση του «Internet Governance Forum») και αναφερόταν στην ελευθερία και τη Δημοκρατία που προάγει το Ιnternet, μια είδηση στον κυβερνοχώρο σκίασε όλα τα καλά και θεωρητικά που ο κ. Καραμανλής είπε στους εξέχοντες καλεσμένους της χώρας. Η Ελλάδα μπήκε στη χορεία εκείνων των κρατών (Κίνα, Ιράν, Τυνησία, Βιετνάμ) που συλλαμβάνουν και οδηγούν σιδηροδέσμιους στα αστυνομικά τμήματα τους χρήστες του Διαδικτύου, επειδή άσκησαν το δικαίωμα έκφρασης.
Το χρονικό αυτού του απίστευτου συμβάντος, το οποίο εκθέτει και την κυβέρνηση, έχει ως εξής: Ενα δικτυακό ημερολόγιο (funel.blogspot.com) σατιρίζει τον γνωστό τηλεπωλητή βιβλίων επιστημονικής ανοησίας Δημοσθένη Λιακόπουλο. Ο τελευταίος έκανε μηνύσεις, όχι μόνο στον κάτοχο αυτού του ηλεκτρονικού ημερολογίου, αλλά και σε καθένα που παρέπεμπε σ' αυτήν τη διεύθυνση. Ακόμη και σε κατόχους δικτυακών τόπων οι οποίοι απλώς καταλογογραφούν τα περιεχόμενα του ελληνικού Διαδικτύου.
Η μήνυση του κ. Λιακόπουλου ατύχησε σε ό,τι αφορά τον επικριτή του, διότι το ιστολόγιο funEL βρίσκεται στις ΗΠΑ και οι επιχειρήσεις εκεί δεν δίνουν στοιχεία στις αρχές παρά μόνο σε περιπτώσεις πραγματικών εγκλημάτων. Ο κ. Αντώνης Τσιπρόπουλος, όμως, ο οποίος απλώς καταλογογραφεί το περιεχόμενο ατύχησε να έχει τον δικτυακό του τόπο στην Ελλάδα. Και συνελήφθη!
Την εμπειρία του διηγείται ο ίδιος: «Δίχως καμιά προηγούμενη ειδοποίηση από τον μηνυτή (για λόγους διευθέτησης της υπόθεσης, εξηγήσεων τεχνικών ή μη) έλαβα στην έδρα μου αιφνιδιαστική επίσκεψη από αστυνομικούς της δίωξης ηλεκτρονικού εγκλήματος, παρουσία εισαγγελέα. Αφού έγινε σχετική έρευνα, προανάκριση και κατάσχεση του σκληρού δίσκου, ακολούθησε σύλληψη. Υπό τη συνοδεία των αστυνομικών οργάνων, οδηγήθηκα τέλος, στη Γενική Ασφάλεια Αθηνών ΓΑΔΑ. Ακολουθώντας τις διαδικασίες του αυτοφώρου (αποτυπώματα κ.λπ.), προωθήθηκα για τη διανυκτέρευση στα κρατητήρια. Την επόμενη ημέρα, και έπειτα από τη διαδικασία της φωτογράφησης, φορώντας χειροπέδες, όπως προβλέπει η διαδικασία, οδηγήθηκα στην Εισαγγελία (Ευελπίδων), όπου διατάχτηκε περαιτέρω έρευνα της υπόθεσης».
Αυτά δεν συνέβησαν στην Κίνα, αλλά στη χώρα της οποίας ο πρωθυπουργός προχθές δήλωνε: «Ο ανοικτός χαρακτήρας, η απλότητα και η ελευθερία στην πρόσβαση και τη λήψη της πληροφορίας, από κοινού με την κατανεμημένη φύση του, είναι μεταξύ των βασικών αρχών, επί των οποίων βασίσθηκε η επιτυχία του Διαδικτύου».
