There is no reason to purchase Eidos' "Kane & Lynch: Dead Men" because of their pressure on Gamespot to terminate the particular (and very respectable in being fair) reviewer's employment because the evaluation rating was not favorable while the main Gamespot page skin promoting the M-rated video game stay on at the time of the termination.
Electronic Gaming Monthly had a similar situation dealing with this issue in which the publishers threatened to withdraw their paid advertisements because of poor reviews, particularly Acclaim re unanimously (four reviewers) abysmal review of "Total Recall" for the NES circa 1990.
I find it hypocritical that Eidos publish such a reprehensibly violent and endlessly profane video game (the type that should have earned an AO) on the ground of First Amendment, yet Eidos cannot tolerate a lukewarm review and threaten to withdraw the promotion that make the revenue Gamespot/CNET need in the name of Almighty Dollar.
Weak sales of "Kane & Lynch" and the movie deal out the window will be a karma. ::shame:
