San Antonio, Texas. Weil der 15-jährige Paul eine Ausgangssperre missachtete, landete er im Jugendgefängnis. Damit er sein Drogenproblem in den Griff bekommt, wird er heute für 6 Monate in ein Boot-Camp verlegt, vor dem er sich fürchtet...
Für "Kids Behind Bars" besuchten Brian Woods und Kate Blewett Kindergefängnisse auf der ganzen Welt. Sie sahen mit eigenen Augen, wie Kinder hier leben, hörten ihre Geschichten und Lebenswege und besuchten sie manchmal nach der Entlassung. Und sie entdeckten auch ein Gefängnis, dass seine Aufgabe tatsächlich erfüllte. Es kam ohne Gitter und Schlösser aus. Hier gehen sogar verurteilte Mörder jeden Morgen zur Schule. Und die entlassenen Jugendlichen finden sogar oft einen Job in der Freiheit. Dieses Gefängnis arbeitet mit dem liberalsten Strafvollzug und hat die geringste Rückfallsquote und liegt in einem Land, in dem man es nicht vermutet hätte - in der Türkei...
