Codeine extraction from Poppy.
May we ask, government of Canada to consider extending Bill C-9 regarding low cost medication for third world countries, and merge Afghan compact.
Consider installation of Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Afghanistan.
World today is suffering from incurable AIDS and Cancer.
Only working medication for pain management is codeine or opiates.
Narcotic cartels got codeine excluded from shelf medication in early 70's, Poppy production was not illegal before US assigning codeine in DEA contraband list.
Fear of addiction of cough and analgesic medication, shouldn't be reason to deprive people from effective medication.
Narcotic cartels have thrived multifold, its time to reverse ban on codeine and make it available in shelf medication.
I understand it will be hard to get ban on codeine lifted, as it goes against interests of narcotic cartels.As narcotics is the third largest source in US economy.
~ Cut Narcotics trade and allow Codeine for shelf medication. ~
