Mike Furrey speaks at Nick Nischan Day
Mike Furrey (wide receiver with the Detroit Lions) flew from Detroit, MI, to Lexington, KY, where he then drove an hour and a half to our little town in Grayson,KY, to speak at a special event for our son, Nick Nischan. Nick is almost 13 and has been battling brain cancer for nearly 6 years. He has had five surgeries, undergone aggressive chemo, had 60 radiation treatments to his brain, and has had over 30 blood/platelet transfusions. He never complains, questions, or whines. He truly has put all of his trust in God! I am so thankful for Christian athletes! Thank you, Mike! We love you!
