Geraldo Vandré - Pra Não Dizer Que Não Falei Das Flores
Geraldo Vandré é o nome artÃstico de Geraldo Pedrosa de Araújo Dias (João Pessoa, 12 de setembro de 1935), um cantor e compositor brasileiro.
Em 1966, chegou à final do Festival de Música Popular Brasileira da TV Record com o sucesso "Disparada", interpretado por Jair Rodrigues. A canção arrebatou o primeiro lugar ao lado de "A Banda", de Chico Buarque. Em 1968, participou do III Festival Internacional da Canção com "Pra Não Dizer Que Não Falei Das Flores" ou "Caminhando".
A composição era um hino de resistência contra o governo militar. O refrão "Vem, vamos embora / Que esperar não é saber / Quem sabe faz a hora / Não espera acontecer" foi interpretado como uma chamada à luta armada contra os ditadores. O sucesso acabou em segundo lugar no festival, perdendo para "Sabiá", de Chico Buarque e Tom Jobim.
Ainda em 1968, com o AI-5, Vandré foi obrigado a exilar-se. Depois de passar dias escondido na fazenda da viúva de Guimarães Rosa, morto no ano anterior, o compositor partiu para o Chile e, de lá, para a França.
Voltou ao Brasil em 1973. Até hoje, vive em São Paulo e compõe. Muitos, porém, acreditam que Vandré tenha enlouquecido por causa de supostas torturas que ele teria sofrido. Dizem que uma das agressões fÃsicas que sofreu foi ter os testÃculos extirpados, após a realização de um espetáculo, por policiais da repressão. O músico, no entanto, nega que tenha sido torturado e diz que só não se apresenta mais porque sua imagem de Che Guevara Cantor abafa a obra.
Uma canção relativamente recente muito contribuiu para difundir a idéia de loucura de Vandré. Trata-se de "Fabiana", composição em homenagem à Força Aérea Brasileira, apresentada na década de 1990 na Biblioteca Municipal de São Paulo.
