Basic HTML and CSS Tutorial. Howto make website from scratch
You can put your site on the web using a free host
http://blog.jimmyr.com/List_of_Webhosting_Companies_17_2008.php
Yeah, it's long. #1 requested tutorial on my page is how to make your own site though. I guess it beats those "learn html in 24 hours" books in any case. See the freehosts below on how to put your page online.

You can indicate color by using RGB mode too. eg. #336699 is a nice blue google likes to use. It stands for 33 red, 66 green, and 99 blue in hexadecimal. Here's a RGB color picker

Prince XML: Generating High Quality PDFs from HTML + CSS
Google Tech Talks
November, 12 2007
ABSTRACT
Please welcome HÃ¥kon Lie and Michael Day, who will be presenting Prince XML.
Prince Overview: Prince is a computer program that converts XML and HTML into PDF documents. Prince can read many XML formats, including XHTML and SVG. Prince formats documents according to style sheets written in CSS.
Dynamic data-driven documents: Prince is an ideal printing component for server-based software such as web applications and database systems. Using Prince, data in XML can easily be converted to PDF documents that can be printed, archived or downloaded over the web.
Electronic publishing: Prince can also be used by authors and publishers to typeset and print documents written in HTML, XHTML or one of the many XML-based document formats. Prince is capable of formatting academic papers, scientific journals, novels, and books with extensive illustrations.
Speaker: HÃ¥kon Wium Lie
HÃ¥kon Wium Lie, YesLogic Director: HÃ¥kon is a web pioneer, having proposed CSS while working with Tim Berners-Lee at CERN in 1994. HÃ¥kon became a devotee when he found that Prince could format his book on CSS (co-authored with Bert Bos) and his PhD thesis. HÃ¥kon is a graduate of MIT's Media Lab and is also the CTO of Opera Software.
Speaker: Michael Day
Michael Day, YesLogic CEO: Michael is the system architect for Prince. He has implemented the CSS processing module, which supports many pioneering CSS features including CSS3 Selectors and Paged Media properties. In 2003, he joined the W3C CSS working group as an invited expert.

Google I/O 2008 - HTML 5, Brought to You by Gears
HTML5, Brought to You by Gears
Aaron Boodman (Google)
HTML5 is a new set of proposed extensions to HTML that radically improve the capabilities of web applications. However, without implementations in a majority of browsers, these proposals remain just that, and out of reach for developers.
The Gears mission is to begin implementing these APIs today, across as many browsers as possible, as quickly as possible. In this talk, I'll explain why we are doing this, what our motives are, and show how implementing web standards is good for Google and good for the web.
We'll also loook at some examples of standards the Gears team has participated in to various levels, as well as talk about what's next for Gears and standards.
