Limestone Quarry
Dredging goes on at a limestone quarry that is also the location of the Haile 7G paleontological dig site. The dig site is the location of the Florida Museum of Natural History's "Tapir Challenge," which I joined as a volunteer on December 6, 2006. More about the "Tapir Challenge" is at:
http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/vertpaleo/2006_dig.htm
Photos from my day there are at:

(Close up the space before "6372" -- I can't seem to do it here.)
The water shown in this video is part of the Florida aquifer.

Limestone Coast, South Australia
Famed for its red wines, red soils and red rock lobster, the Limestone Coast is located in the middle of the Adelaide to Melbourne touring route. Lush pastures dotted with gum trees, immaculate vineyards, sweeping expanses of coast and parallel pine plantations line the way as you drive among the region's pretty country towns.
Drink the world-beating wines of Coonawarra during the Cellar Dwellers event held throughout July. You'll find a warm welcome at cellar doors throughout the region, where locals are eager to share their vintages and some fine dining.
Visit the spectacular Naracoorte Caves, where huge fossils have proven the existence of massive prehistoric mammals. Take a hike around Mt Gambier's Blue Lake, renowned for mysteriously turning turquoise every summer. See migratory birds that have flown from as far away as Siberia to rest in the Coorong National Park. You can experience the best of the region by following the Limestone Coast Wine and Food Trail, available from visitor information centres across the region.

Krabi in southern Thailand
is together with Phanggna Bay and the Trang archipelago probably the most scenic costal region in Asia. A feast for the eyes, places to relax, beaches, jungle, rock climbing, excellent food, good to very good Krabi southern Thailand hotels for all sizes of wallets, spa's, friendly people and still a economic price structure compared with other tourist spots in southern Thailand.
During the last 10 years Krabi southern Thailand became a very popular destination.
If you approach Krabi from Phuket via Phangnga (highway 4) you will experience a pleasant surprise, a few kilometers after passing Phangnga you cruise right through dense jungle.
Creeping up those limestone formations around Krabi is a carpet of dense green to serve as a habitat for many insects, small animals
(the bigger ones are already gone) birds, flowers and plants. In the last 10 years the people of Krabi southern Thailand got a little bit more conscious about their environment and don't destroy for quick money, it paid of somehow.
