Paulinho MacLaren - Santos FC
Homenagem ao matador santista dos anos 90.
Nascido em 28 de setembro de 1963, natural de Igaraçu do Tietê (SP), Paulinho começou a carreira no Bandeirante de Birigui, em 1981. Jogou no Serra Negra, em 85, no Sãocarlense, em 86, no Comercial de Ribeirão, em 87, no Barretos, em 88, e na Votuporanguense, em 89, antes de chegar a uma grande equipe do cenário brasileiro.
No Atlético Paranaense, também em 89, não teve muitas oportunidades e acabou se transferindo para o Figueirense (SC). No time de Florianópolis, Paulinho provou ser um artilheiro, o que chamou a atenção de dirigentes santistas.
Paulinho, que ganhou o apelido de McLaren por causa da equipe de F-1 do piloto brasileiro Ayrton Senna, chegou desacreditado ao Santos, mas aos poucos conquistou a torcida. Chegou a fazer boas duplas no Santos com Serginho Chulapa, Almir (ex-Grêmio) e Guga. Ele foi artilheiro do nacional de 1991.
No final de 1992, Paulinho trocou o Santos pelo Porto, de Portugal. Lá, conquistou dois tÃtulos: campeão português e supercampeão de Portugal, ambos em 1993.
No ano seguinte, o artilheiro voltou ao futebol brasileiro. Contratado pelo Internacional, Paulinho levantou mais uma taça, a do Campeonato Gaúcho de 1994. Depois do Inter, Paulinho jogou pela Portuguesa (94, 95 e 97), Cruzeiro (95 e 96), Fluminense (97), Atlético Mineiro (98), Miami Fusion (98) e encerrou carreira no Santa Cruz, em 99.
