Maxon OD-9 Overdrive Pedal
www.ProGuitarShop.com - The Maxon OD-9 Overdrive pedal is the original tube screamer. Maxon was the OEM manufacturer for Ibanez from 1974 to 2002. If anyone tries to tell you that Maxon copied Ibanez, slap 'em! This is the original and no imitation out there can reproduce it. The Maxon OD9 Overdrive pedal is also the reason that the JRC4558 op-amp gained such notoriety. From clean boost to screaming overdrive, the Maxon OD-9 Overdrive pedal is still the choice of the pros.
The Maxon OD-9 Overdrive pedal sounds like...well a tube screamer! It is a tube screamer! With a smooth midrange boost to set your guitar out front of the mix, the OD-9 is perfect for soloing. It also makes a great rhythm pedal as well, chunking out the spanky overdrive that made the tube screamer famous. The Maxon OD-9 Overdrive pedal also features true-bypass to keep your tone clean.

Maxon CS-550 Stereo Chorus Pedal
www.ProGuitarShop.com - The Maxon CS-550 Stereo Chorus was originally commissioned by legendary Japanese Rock guitarist Hisato "Char" Takenaka. After 25 years of playing Char still hadn't found a chorus unit that satisfied his critical tastes, so he approached Maxon to build him one. Char had requested three specific points be addressed when designing this unit first that it should have less noise than a standard chorus; second that it should be extremely versatile; and lastly, that it had to be analog. The results of this experiment were so overwhelmingly positive that Maxon decided to market the unit, and thus the CS-550 Stereo Chorus was born.
The Maxon CS-550 offers an entire range of classic and unique new chorusing effects. Based around the Panasonic MN3207 (low voltage BBD IC, now out of production), the CS-550's Rate and Depth control can conjure every chorus texture from subtle to severe. The custom-tuned oscillator circuit can provide enough speed to authentically imitate rotary speaker cabinets and just the right amount of modulation for a lush vibrato that won't leave you feeling seasick.
The real secret behind the CS-550's amazing tone lies in the Delay Time control. The Delay Time control exhibits an inverse relation between the delay time and the frequency shift of the chorus - as the delay time increases, the frequency that is shifted decreases. This inverse relation creates "double level" and "cancellation" peaks and notches at particular frequency points to create an amazingly realistic, three-dimensional chorus effect. In addition, the Delay Time control is interactive with the Rate and Depth controls, so that if you increase the Depth, the Delay Time range increases, and if you increase the Speed, the Delay Time changes faster.
For even more versatility, the Maxon CS-550 features stereo outputs for mono, stereo, or inverted mono signal routing. A rear-mounted Mix Level control determines the level of effected signal vs. dry signal, making the CS-550 perfect for use with bass guitar as well. All the CS-550's features are kept dead quiet by a Signetics #NE571 compander in the circuit that eliminates unwanted noise.
Discontinued in 2003 due to shortages of the Panasonic BBD's that power it, the Maxon CS-550 was re-issued in 2005 in answer to overwhelming demand for the pedal. The reissue unit has an identical circuit to the original with the addition of a 4PDT switch for true bypass switching of both outputs.

Maxon OD-808 Overdrive Pedal
www.ProGuitarShop.com - Here it is, the Maxon OD-808 Overdrive pedal! This was one of the first overdrive pedals to emulate tube amp overdrive with a solid state circuit. The OD-808 is also one of the most imitated pedals in stompbox history. The Maxon OD-808 Overdrive is one of Maxon's Reissue series. The only difference between this one and the original is a change in output resistors in order to reduce noise from static electricity buildup. Otherwise, the OD-808 is true to the original, featuring a signal distorting diode in the negative feedback loop which causes the signal to distort in the amplifier circuit instead of after. The Maxon OD-808 Overdrive pedal also features the infamous JRC4558 (of course!).
Smooth and creamy. That's the tone of the Maxon OD-808 Overdrive pedal. That sought after sound that everyone and their sister has tried to imitate and improve on is contained in the OD-808. This pedal needs no improvements, the overdrive is thick and creamy with singing sustain. The harmonically rich tone is easily cleaned up with a roll of the guitar's volume knob. If the search for the perfect tube screamer has got you down, the Maxon OD-808 Overdrive pedal will lift you back up and end that pesky nagging in the back of your head that your tone could be better.

Maxon CP-9 Pro+ Compressor Pedal
www.ProGuitarShop.com - Maxon CP-9 Pro Plus Compressor Pedal - With the CP-9 Pro+, Maxon has taken one of the most lauded compression circuits of all time and placed it in one amazing little stompbox, creating the most "effective" compressor yet!
More than a reissue, the CP-9 Pro+ features a completely redesigned circuit that is vastly superior to the original 1980's model. The CP-9 Pro+ circuit is based around the patented low-noise DBX compression technology that is used in many high-end pro audio products. This circuit combines a high-quality VCA (voltage controlled amplifier) with an RMS (root mean square) sensor, providing a natural attack response while maintaining an extremely low noise floor generally not found in floor-based units.
The CP-9 Pro+ has Threshold, Ratio, and Gain controls that are extremely interactive and allow for a variety of useful applications for the unit. With a maximum compression Ratio of ?:1 (no increase in output level, regardless of level) the Pro+ can be used as a limiter to balance volume levels. At medium Threshold settings a variety of compression effects from "pinched" notes to shimmering, sustained arpeggios can be achieved by simply varying the Ratio and Gain knobs. With a maximum Gain of +30 dB and Threshold set at 1:1 (no compression) the Pro+ can also be used as a clean booster to slam the front end of your amplifier or other effects units. The CP-9 Pro+ has the highest Gain available from a pedal compressor, making it possible to achieve a balanced output at any compression setting. A Reduction status LED accurately displays the degree of the compression effect for the user to see when the unit is engaged.
To offer improved performance, Maxon has added their proprietary DC-DC stabilized voltage converter to this DBX-based compression circuit. The converter takes the 9 volt (+/- 4.5 volts) input power and bumps it up to 18 volts (+/- 9 volts). Operation in this voltage range provides a wider dynamic range than ordinary compressors while allowing maximum head room to prevent input distortion. This fuller frequency response makes the CP-9 Pro+ ideal for use with Bass or Keyboards as well as today's high-gain guitar pickups and electronics.
Like all Maxon 9-Series models, the CP-9 Pro+ features True Bypass Switching using a 4PDT mechanical switch, feeding your amp with direct, unaltered signal when the effect is disengaged.

Peavey Classic 30

Guitar:
Fender 1972 Stratocaster
I was home for the weekend, had my Delay pedal, and took a video in my parents' living room.
Overview of Video:
I start with kind of a standard length delay. Next I max out the delay level, and the delay repeat, and create a loop, and adjust the delay time to get the cool sounds.
After that I do some Albert Lee schtuff with a slap back echo, (it's much better sounding than it sounds on this tape), and finally back to a solo type delay
