Brigid Mhairi sings Oh Happy Day
READ BEFORE COMMENTING PLEASE:
I hate doing this but I get so many comments on this video and many of them are pointing out things I have already pointed out myself and which have been pointed out by others so PLEASE read the following first as I might not respond as you would expect if you just make pointless commentary:
1. I really love this song because I loved the Sister Act films. Lauryn Hill is absolutely the best and all in all I think gospel music rocks.
This ^ is what I used to have on this video info but since the comments got a bit out of hand... I added the below bits:
2. This backing track is one of the hardest ones to work with because of the backing vocals, especially that early bit. You cannot do your own thing with it and the "backing singers" are leading you which is the wrong way around when you are supposed to be the lead voice. Not excusing my (I think) poor attempt at it but explaining it. BIG difference.
3. I recorded this about three months after I started singing (I am not a trained or taught vocalist) back in 2007. What I am saying is that this is no longer where I am "at" vocally so giving me criticism on it is pointless because I am probably a lot more critical than you. :P
4. It was for fun, and now I prefer singing with live music.
Therefore I will NOT be singing this song again. Because I don't like it anymore as much as I once did.
All in all some people take it all way too seriously. I sing for fun, and am not afraid to not be "great" or "perfect" because as long as *I* enjoy DOING it I am happy. And no, I am blonde with pale skin, I know. Thanks for pointing this out to me. ;) Peace.

This is a celebration...we are to live happily and freely. This is the spirit with which Brigid sings, and so should it be for us all. May you always sing with such innocence Brigid! Thanks for being a reminder to all of us. BTW: I shared these same sentiments at the end of the video....but the video ends abruptly...and way short of the end. Um...YouTube...can we get that fixed please? Actually, it was a glitch in the software....and I didn't have the patience to render it all over again.
Sheesh! This has been a absolutely fun journey...while doing this song for Brigid, I have discovered my passion and love for music again. Welcome to the next chapter of what I will be doing for ....I'd say...the next few months , or so. I am looking to put out some Christmas tunes...just in time for Christmas. This will include all my favorite Christmas songs that I grew up with and loved for as long as I can remember (I tent to not remember much these days anymore:). This is going to be so much fun for me: I can't even keep in my skin at the thought of hitting those Chrismas melodies. It promises to be a special time for sure! I think I will drop an original Christmas tune and call it "Egg Nog."Ha ha ha! I will be sure and add clips of all things seasonal (from around here). You guys will have to definitely stop by and check it out!!!! Oh well! Enjoy my friends!

Another break from the India films- just because I have just waded through 9 and a half hours of real time video transferral and found this. My daughter aged 5. Prima Ballerina Brigid Mhairi is joined on stage by her paternal grandmother.
