Minarchism: Ethically Self-contradictary
Taxation, land theft, coercive monopoly, death threats and forced exile of innocents. What do these things all have in common?
(1) They involve the initiation of force or the threat thereof.
(2) They are inherently required for a state to come into existance and maintain its existance.
(3) They are all supported to one degree or another by minarchist libertarians who claim that the initiation of force or the threat thereof is wrong.

Anarchy is a lie and an impossibility. Force is a nessesity, but that does not mean we should not endevor to minimize it's use. In the end, the power to effectively kill and the willingness to risk life will decide the parties and methods in control. Wide distribution of this power is the only effective means of keeping coercion to a minimum.

I attempt to give my defense of minarchy.
Note that I do not believe "government" and "state" to be the same thing. State is formalized government, with coercion implied. Government is simply social order, with some submitting to the governance (or, in webspeak, "moderation") of others. This can be voluntary, thus I do not believe governments, by this definition, violate libertarian ideals.
