Ni'lin demo against the wall 13-7-08
On July 9th 2008, the villagers of Nil'in demonstrated in commemoration of the 2004 International Court of Justice ruling which stated that the apartheid wall being built by Israel is illegal. During the demonstration, Israeli military forces arrested Nil'in residents, Samer Mustafa Ahmed Nafe, 33, Ahmad Mustafa Ahmed Nafe, 26 and Hassan Yussef Hassan Amira, 36. They are currently being held in Ofer military detention facility.
4000 NIS is needed to cover the cost of their legal representation. The ISM have managed to raise 2500 NIS of this money, but we need donations to cover the final 1500 NIS of the cost. Ni'lin village - Demonstration against the wall - 29-5-08
Ni'lin's 5rd demonstration The village is mounting a courages and determined fight.
The Israeli government has started to implement a plan which if completed will enclose the village of Nilin and its neighboring villages in an enclave. On one side of the enclave will be the currently approved route of the wall and on the other side, an addition to the wall which follows road 446 about 8 km in order to include two additional settlements on the "Israeli" side of the wall. The proposed addition to the wall will surround an Israeli-only highway while the Palestinians on whose land the wall is being built will be relegated to secondary roads

As of today, Tuesday 8th of July 2008, the military curfew in Ni'linhas been lifted. In response to statements released earlier today byan Israeli army spokeswoman claiming that "There were discussionsbetween the villagers and the army commanders and they decided to liftthe curfew," and that "The villagers promised not to protest and tokeep the village quiet" (Reuters 7/8/08), the Ni'lin Popular CommitteeAgainst the Apartheid Wall wants to clarify the following: The Popular Committee, who is representing the Ni'lin municipality,political parties, institutions and organizations in Ni'lin, has notbeen in any discussions with any Israeli army commanders and has notmade a promise to the Israeli army that there will be no moreprotests.

Ni'lin village - Demonstration against the wall - 29-7-08
Ahmad Husam Yousef Mousa, 10 years old, was murdered today as he demonstrated together with his friends against the separation wall which is being constructed on the lands of his village Nilin. When Ahmad and his friends reached the construction site the soldiers shot rubber bullets at them and they began to retreat. At that point one of the soldiers shot a live round at Ahmad's head from a distance of about 10 meters.
During the demo earlier in the day, 18 demonstrators were injured.
During 6 years of popular struggle against the wall, the occupation forces have killed 11 demonstrators, 7 of them children, and thousands were injured. Time and time again, soldiers violently suppress demonstrations and attack those who take part in them with lethal weapons. To date, none of the soldiers who killed demonstrators has been prosecuted.

Solidarity deno - Budrus to Ni'lin - 7-7-08
The village of Ni'alin, which is located in the Ramallah district, has for more than a month now been leading an intense struggle against the de-facto appropriation of 2,500 of its 7,000 dunams of land by the "separation fence". The route of the fence in this area, much like the famous case of Bil'in, has been planned in such a way that would allow the near by illegal settlement of Hashmonaim to expand on lands that will be "left behind" the fence.
The villagers, who refuse to accept this, hold three-four demonstrations a week, marching towards the construction site and the settlement, in many cases successfully forcing a halt of construction.
The army, however, is responding with growing ferocity. According to the army spokesperson, an entire regiment was relocated to guard the construction, and these soldiers use brutal force against the unarmed demonstrators. On Friday the village was put under a ten-day siege, and residents were informed it was a punishment for the demonstrations. During the weekend an attempt was made to enforce a curfew on the village, but the villagers' active resistance changed the army's plans.

Shahid Yusuf Ahmad Amira's funeral - Ni'lin 4-8-08
Yusuf Ahmad Yunes Amira, 18 years old, was shot by a border police officer last Wednesday in Ni'lin and died of his injuries today. After the end of the funeral procession of Ahmad Mousa, the 10 year old who was murdered the previous day at a demonstration against the wall, border police troops invaded the center of the village shooting rubber coated metal bullets everywhere. A border police officer shot Amira in the head with two bullets from a distance of less than 10 meters while he was in his driveway. Amira was pronounced brain dead when he reached the hospital and died this morning.
Yusef Amira is the 13th casualty of the popular struggle against the wall which has also included thousands of injured. This struggle has been met from its beginning with unprecedented repression which keeps escalating every day. The soldiers use lethal means to attack demonstrations of Women Men and children who protest together the theft of their lands.
The escalation by the army in Ni'lin is the direct responsibility of Brigadier General Aviv Reshef. All war criminals from policy makers to those who carry it out should be held responsible.
