Antonia Juhasz is a visiting scholar at the Washington, D.C.-based Institute for Policy Studies and author of The Bush Agenda: Invading the World, One Economy at a Time, which explores the Bush administration's use of the military to advance a corporate globalization agenda in Iraq and throughout the Middle East.
Juhasz previously served as the project director of the International Forum on Globalization and as a legislative assistant to Congressmen John Conyers Jr. and Elijah Cummings.
An award-winning writer, her work appears regularly on the Op Ed pages of the Los Angeles Times as well as numerous author newspapers and publications. She is contributing author to Alternatives to Economic Globalization: A Better World Is Possible (Berrett-Koehler, 2004).

Opposition hopeful in Pakistan election count - 19 Jan 08
The results are being tallied in Pakistan's long-awaited parliamentary elections.
Sporadic violence on polling day killed at least 20 people, and the fear of attacks appears to have kept turnout low.
It's estimated only 42 per cent of eligible voters cast ballots on Monday.
But the first unofficial results suggest most of them backed opposition candidates.
Pakistan's election commission is not expected to confirm the result until later on Tuesday.

Armed ZANU-PF youths are waging a terror campaign, and have vowed that the MDC will not rule the country, even if it wins."The withdrawal came as no surprise to African election observers.SOT: Marwick Khumalo, Head of Pan African Parliament Observer Mission: "The announcement by the president of the MDC was not something unexpected. You would actually expect that to happen, particularly considering the fact that the violence was not on the decrease, if anything it was escalating."The country's imformation minister says the vote will go ahead as scheduled in accordance with the Constitution. He says it is an election of the people of Zimbabwe against Britain and America. The government has called Tsvangari a puppet of western powers and has done little to stop the violence.The U.N. Secretary general issued a blunt condemnation of Mugabe's government. And Britain says enough is enough.SOT: Gordon Brown, British Prime Minister: "This is a criminal cabal that is operating and there will be sanctions from the international community unless the violence stops."The announcement means Robert Mugabe has a clear road to stay in power. Opposition are 'pondans' - Nazri's tirade
Insults were rained on the opposition in the Dewan Rakyat today over the massive rally held in Kuala Lumpur over the weekend.
Without mincing his words, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz lashed out at the opposition, calling them among others, "pondan" (wimps).
