Angry Public Radio caller
A woman (she says her name is Hillary Socialist) left a message at the local Public Radio station, WETS, making a $60 trillion pledge to the communist party.
Make a pledge at www.wets.org or http://www.democracynow.org/donate.html
From DNTC Website:
"On Wednesday morning, WETS received a call from a deranged listener
blasting the station and calling its staff "un-American communists".
The call came in too early in the morning to be answered by a real
person, so the station's voicemail picked it up. In the voicemail, a
woman goes on to say her name is "Hillary Socialist" and that she
wants to "make a pledge of sixty trillion dollars [...] and give it to
y'all for the socialist communist work that you do". The caller went
on in a completely unhinged fashion lambasting the station and using
all sorts of defamatory language for four or five minutes.
We know about this because the station actually extracted her message
from the voicemail and aired it on Wednesday and Thursday during
Democracy Now! WETS Station Manager Wayne Winkler urged listeners to
remember that without their pledges people like that caller will have
the upper hand.
Thanks to DNTC fellow-traveler W.R., DNTC is proud to bring you a
recording of the actual voicemail and Wayne's response, as aired
during Democracy Now! on Thursday, October 4, 2007. To listen to this
hilarious segment please check out the DNTC website
(http://www.dntc.org) today!"
