Short Films that Inspire Action
The Media That Matters Film Festival, a project of ArtsEngine, just
released its 7th annual festival on DVD. They gave us permission to use
some of the material of the DVD. These short films are billed as "
Short Films that Inspire Action." To get a copy of the entire DVD, or

Shorts we feature on "Indymedia Presents":
"Rapping At Fear" directed by Andres Tabares, a 13 year old living in
Bogota, Columbia. This is a project of the Listen Up! Youth Media
Network, http://www.listenup.org
"The News Is What We Make It," directed and produced by Nickey Robare.
This short won the "Media Reform Award" sponsored by Utne Magazine. It
is a claymation about kids who discover first hand how corporate media
twists things.
"No Child," directed by Gabe Cheifetz, won the "Knowledge is Power"
award. Rapper Shakademic and Glenn Scott visit counter-recruiting
groups and then a glib-tongued recruiter to discover "Do recruiters
really lie to kids?"
Pepperspray Productions formed shortly after the WTO protests in Seattle, in response to the Independent Media Center's call, "don't hate the media, be the media!". We believe that the Corporate Media is not telling us the whole story, and that the people must make our own media if we want our voices to be heard.
