MKWii - Mushroom Gorge - 47.980/14.2 WR (shortcut)
Two records in one vid for the Mushroom Gorge shortcut: 47'9 and 14'2.
First is a 47'980 ghost replay, the current WR (June 23). It's far from perfect (as you'll see), so someone will beat it soon. I used a faster strat compared to the previous record, so I still beat it even though I went offroad.
Mach Bike is best here because of the two 180 degree turns. Unfortunately I drive into the grass so often that I played it safe and used the slower Dolphin bike for its offroad "just in case" I hit grass. That's exactly what happened, and I lost 1sec on lap 1.
The laps were: 16'8 15'7 15'5.
My best are: 15'0 15'1 15'1 = 45'2. In other words, a perfect (lucky?) race would be 3sec faster. But I'd need to play this level non-stop for days without sleep to do 3/3 good laps in one race, so I'm happy with what I got.
I prefer racing just one lap really well. The second race is a 14'254 lap. It was my best when I made this vid, but I improved to 13'331 the next day:
