HurricaneChaseExtreme.com Aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Slidell, Louisiana. According to maps, the storm's eye passed directly over Picayune, MS, less the 20 miles away from Slidell. Most of the old fishing camps that lined the lakefront north and south of I-10 were all but erased, with only the wood pilings remaining. Of special note, I was surprised at the thousands of life preservers and ski vests that were hanging in the trees. Slidell and Bay St Louis October 2005 post Hurricane Katrina
Norm Park of Oregon created this video. The power of these pictures shakes the senses. The storm was almost two years ago. It's cleaner now, but the trauma is still here. Getting past the losses of family, friends, community, homes, cars and personal stuff will take much more time, more time than some people have. Please take a few moments to think of those who have lost so much and still struggle to rebuild.

Open Air Preaching in Slidell, LA
Evangelist Kerrigan Skelly is Open Air Preaching under a tent after Hurricane Katrina. He uses money to draw a crowd and then takes someone through the "good person test." The big circus-size tent is located on the front lawn of a big Baptist Church in Slidell, LA. The sad thing is that there were hundreds of Christians helping out after Katrina, but VERY FEW were sharing the Gospel. God forbid we feed their stomachs, clothe their backs and send them off to Hell!
